The Relaxing Comfort Of Airport Lounges

By Carol Lamb

There are always headaches when it comes to flying. The long waits in security, the crying children in the terminal, and having to suffer the embarrassment of having to take your shoes off in front of complete strangers. Airports are now offering Airport Lounges to customers for a nominal fee to pull them away from the stressful sounds that fill the normal waiting areas. We will take a look at three different airports offerings and do a little comparison shopping for you.

Most airport lounges are owned by the different airlines. They will offer you a variety of business services such as phone, fax, and Internet access among others. They will also offer you certain refreshments and a much quieter atmosphere than that noisy and crowded airport terminal.

The next airport on our lounge list is Heathrow Airport. With this being one of the largest airports in Europe, it offers 6 lounges on 4 different terminals. 5 out of the 6 terminals are child or late teen friendly. Again, the terminals offer free Wi-Fi and snack bars. Only one of the lounges offers only alcoholic and soft drink options. These lounges open at 6 am and close at ten pm. The lounges rates range from 15 pounds to 21 pounds and also offer to allow passengers to check in3 hours before they have to fly.

The third lounge that we will look at is in Birmingham Airport. There are two lounges in this airport that offer many of the same amenities as the other airport lounges and also offer admittance to the lounges three hours in advance. Again, the lounges charge between 15 to 21 pounds.

Almost all the lounges in English airports are competitively priced starting at fourteen pounds. This allows Business travelers and other passengers to make use of the comfort and silence of these lounges. Apart from the ones already mention they offer many other advantages to the passenger.

The frequent flier pass is offered by a lot of the more popular airlines. When you are a member of this program you will be awarded with certain points which are based on the amount of miles that you have flown with that particular airline. These points that you have accumulated can then be redeemed for a variety of goods or services. This could range from free air travel or to exclusive access to posh airport lounges.

Business professionals can have all the equipment they need to run a virtual office without the hassle. Printers, faxes, copy machines, and photocopy machines make being away from the office. This is a time saver and a half for those that need to complete that last minute presentation they have waiting for them on the other end of their flight.

Passengers who want to avoid the airport chaos can benefit from these airport lounges for a few pounds. Airport lounges offer a haven from noisy children and provide you with privacy so that you can complete your official work or simply read a book with a snack and a drink!
