Visit KFC Yum! Center Louisville

By Mike Woods

Any individual, couple or family planning a trip to Louisville might want to consider a visit to KFC Yum! Center. This latest arena for sports and concerts has a full calendar of events planned. Check them out on-line to see if some musical event or sports match coincides with your time in Kentucky.

This center provides a home for University of Louisville mens and womens basketball. Catch a Cardinals game when they happen to be at home, or watch them in action against your home town side. Another way to support the Cardinals apart from cheering them on is by shopping for merchandise. Items for sale include hats, shirts, sweaters and towels. Buy a pin for mom or special infant wear for a niece or nephew.

There are several ways to buy tickets when you want to attend a concert or game. Go in person to the Yum Center ticket booth, allowing yourself plenty of time. Leaving matters too late could lead to disappointment when such popular acts are booked to perform. Call up, even type the arena into your computer and purchase on-line. Groups may be eligible for discount so explore this option also. Seating includes some areas which are wheelchair accessible so indicate this need ahead of time.

Sports are key here, but music and other events also take place. Situated in the city, locals and visitors alike are attracted to a line-up including ice shows and family presentations. While waiting for an event to begin catch some evening sun in the landscaped courtyard or find something to eat at the restaurant, maybe sip a drink in the lounge.

As if KFC Yum! was not enough, this could be a chance to explore Louisville more closely. The town has so much to offer including lots of history and education. Kids can learn more about science, explore wildlife at the zoo while parents explore Kentucky Derby Museum. Board the Belle of Louisville for a steam boat ride on the Ohio River. Take your seat at one of several smaller arts venues located within striking distance.

Stay at Fairfield Inn, a conveniently short drive from the arena. Amenities include in-room coffee, flat screen TV and luxurious beds to sink into after your journey to Kentucky. Heat up snacks in your microwave and keep drinks in the mini-refrigerator.

Should an instant snack of this nature not appeal, dining options in your area include familiar favorites with plenty that welcome kids. Ask about delivery from some of these local establishments to your room. Each morning, start the day with a free, casual breakfast in the big, bright hotel guest dining area.
