All The Things You Can Do In Glendale Arizona

Glendale, located in the Valley of the Sun in Northwest Arizona, is a small residential community. It's an attractive town with many sightseeing. Get to know about some of the top places in this area.

The Jobing.com Arena is a popular hotspot in Glendale, with dozens of shows and concerts being held there each year. Sports fans throng the place whenever the Phoenix Coyotes are playing.

University of Phoenix Stadium (previously known as the Cardinals Stadium) is the home ground of the Arizona Cardinals, the Championship Game and the BCS the Fiesta Game. You can prefer a guided tour of the place on days when there is no game.

The Westgate City Center is Glendale's foremost destination when it comes to shopping, dining and entertainment. It's located virtually next door to the University of Phoenix Stadium and Jobing.com Arena, which is considered the heart of the city. The Westgate City Center is largely known for its restaurants, bars and fountains as well as for the entertainment events, which are frequently hosted there.

Camelback Ranch was lately added to the list of sports venues in the West Valley. The Los Angeles Dodgers and the Chicago White Sox also train in the stadium throughout the Spring Basketball season.

Built in 1885, the Sahuaro Ranch is a historic landmark that also finds a place in the National Register of Historic Places. This 17 acre property has 17 buildings and a rose garden that are open to visitors. The Sahuaro Ranch hosts many special events every year, one of which is famous Antique Tractor and Engine Show in February.

Thursdays in Glendale are special. If you walk down the streets of downtown Glendale any Thursday between October and May, you will be able to catch a glimpse of the Caitlin Court Historic District, shop for antiques, ride in a carriage and enjoy the street performances.

The Cerreta Candy Company is family-owned firm. To learn how liquid caramel is transformed into tempting treats and how yummy cream centers enter the core of rich chocolate, you may take a tour of the factory. The standard tour may last for about half an hour Monday to Friday.

Cabela's is one of the major retailers in Glendale and the store is a tourist hub with its aquarium, fishing and hunting museum and numerous other attractions. You can easily walk down to Cabela's from the Arena and it's not more than a mile away from the Stadium.

The White Tank Mountain Regional Park is not exactly in Glendale. It is a few miles west of the town. Get about 21 fine miles of biking and hiking trails with diverse levels. The Waterfall Trail leading to the Petroglyph Plaza is a desired spot among the kids.

The 4 acre Glendale Xeriscape Botanical Garden displays more than a thousand varieties of cacti and other desert plants. The garden is open to visitors everyday through the year and admission is totally free.
