The Top 10 Nature Adventure Travel Trips Worldwide

By Ada Denis

If you were asked to make a list of the ten best nature and wildlife adventure travel destinations and tours in the world, which would you choose?

Well, some of the contenders in the top adventure tours ranking list might surprise you or be the exact ones that you would have chosen yourself because the ranking is compiled by using trip reports and reviews from past travelers who have been there and experienced the adventure travel tours and destinations for themselves.

So here is the list of the top 10 nature adventure travel tours and destinations on earth in reverse order...

10. Madagascar

As far as unique wildlife goes, Madagascar takes the first prize. A total of 80% of the plant species and many of the animals are only found there and nowhere else in the world. The highlights on a Madagascar adventure travel trip are the many different kinds of lemur, chameleon and frogs that you are sure to see.

9. Great Barrier Reef

With over 1.8 million visitors per year, this world heritage site which is the largest structure on earth built by living organisms certainly deserves its place in the top 10 rankings. The amount and diversity of the marine life here is simply astonishing.

8. Polar Bear Trek

The time left to be able to see this magnificent predator in its natural habitat may be very short because they are threatened due to global warming and climate change. The polar bear is the biggest of its kind in the world and is at the top of the food chain with its only natural enemy being man.

7. Tiger Safari

The thrill of seeing this beautiful big cat from the back of an elephant in one of India's National Parks is incomparable. There are only around 6000 of them left in the world and they are very secretive so spotting one or more of them on safari is a rare privilege that not many people have had.

6. Whale Watching

They are so big that it almost seems impossible for flesh and blood to exist in such abundance and when they jump clear of the water (breaching) with that huge bulk the laws of physics seem to be suspended for a few moments. You only really appreciate just how massive whales are when you get close to them on a whale watching adventure travel tour. You may also be lucky enough to be able to listen to them communicate through their complex language of whistles and squeaks.

5. Wildebeest Migration

If you thought rush hour was bad, try being a wildebeest in the Serengeti when about 1.5 million of your neighbors decide that it's time to hit the road to find better grazing and water, all at the same time. It is one of the biggest mass migrations in the world and all the predators like lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena and crocodile feast when the migration moves through their territory.

4. Swim With Wild Dolphins

Everyone who does this comes back with an almost mystical appreciation of the fact that the dolphins choose to swim with them and even seem to enjoy the close company to humans. They sometimes come within touching distance of swimmers (but touching them is strictly not allowed) and leap from the water as if tempting the humans to copy them. It's the connection with such an intelligent animal even though it is completely wild that makes this adventure travel experience so special.

Go Kayaking

Kayaking is a very popular sport, which is similar to canoeing. The Kayak only differs from a canoe in the construction and the seating position of person. Although non-swimmers can equally enjoy the sport since they can use their life jackets and all the kayaking resorts have their lifeguards in place.

Suggested Destinations: You can go Kayaking near the picturesqueVancouver islands. There are many tours that offer four or five day tours to the Johnstone Strait, which will offer a scenic retreat for your family. The beautiful San Juan Islands in Washington located along the Pacific coastline, which are home to the Killer whale are sure to entice and engage your family for sure. Other options might be the Florida Everglades, the Mount Desert Island at Bar Harbor, Maine or the tropical coastlines of the Nicoya Peninsula in Costa Rica.

Go Hiking

If going on a trek, where you will have the climb through the hills and rocks, with your backpack is your idea of fun, then hiking is definitely the way to go! Nature trails and hiking sprees are some of the finest ways to experience the bounty of Mother Nature as you hike through some of the most charismatic hills with verdant surroundings which are coupled with the most tranquil lakes or rivers and the most dazzling waterfalls. Hiking can be a fun way, just be careful while choosing your destination, and consider the physical capabilities of all the members in your family.

Whether it's the volcanic Mount Lassen or the Lake Tahoe, nature's bounty will surprise you and enchant you at every step. Other options include the Yukon-Charles Rivers National Preserve in Alaska, Patagonia hiking destinations or the Inca trails in Peru or the classic Swiss Alps.

Go Camping

Pitch a tent along the quiet riverbanks, indulge in fishing or swimming by the day, cook a meal on the riverside fire, and curl up with your loved ones by the night as you sit and chat looking at the bonfire flames shimmer against the contrast of the tranquil deep blue skies. Sounds fun doesn't it? Camping can be a great way to unwind and enjoy a fun vacation with you family. Pick out the right destination, and make sure you are carrying all your emergency supplies to last you through your stay. If you are one of those people who prefer to carry their homes with them while traveling, taking a recreational vehicle or an RV might be a good idea!

Suggested Destinations: There are a number of options, so pick the one that is most convenient to you. North America offers some of the best camping destinations. Nothing beats the Philip Edward Island, or the Flat Tops at Colorado, or the Channel Islands and Aloha Lakes in California.

Go Sailing

Nothing beats the euphoria of sailing on the azure waters as the cool wind blows through your hair and refreshes you mind and body in an instant. Sailing can be a fun experience for an entire family. In addition to sailing, you can spruce up the venture with some other water sports like snorkeling, scuba diving or fishing. In case your budget permits, you can hire a private yacht that will ensure privacy for your family. However be careful about the safety of your family members while indulging in other water sports. In case you are not familiar with the water sports, it is better to have a professional for supervision on board.

Suggested Destinations: The Caribbean waters offer the best sailing destinations and in addition to the standard cruise vacations, there are available travel packages that offer you to drop in at the near by islands and enjoy the local festivals while you are enjoying you vacation.

In addition to these activities you can also indulge in other activities like rafting, river crossing, snowboarding, or skiing. Make up your mind about the most appropriate activity and the most convenient destination, pack your bags and get ready to have the best vacation of your life! Bon Voyage!

The case of the explosive, shrinking bathing suit

By David Falk

Bathing suits of today bear little resemblance to swimwear of yesteryear. The bathing suit's "explosive" past has evolved from bloomers to bikinis.

Bathing suits - Small, sexy, light, fun, cool. Right? Maybe now, but not always. Few items of clothing have evolved as far as the bathing suit.

The real surge in the popularity of bathing suits started in the early 1700s, when, thanks in part to railroads, beaches became a popular destination for fun. With that came the need for something to wear at the beach. The first solution was the "bathing gowns," which were nothing more than regular dresses made from material that wouldn't become see-through when wet. Big and long, these dresses had to have weights sewn into the hems so the skirts would not float to the surface of the water. Over the years, that style bathing suit became two-piece - but not like the two-piece bikinis of today. Those two-pieces just combined the dresses with pantaloons. And men's styles weren't any more comfortable. Their bathing suits, more like long underwear, had long sleeves and legs and were made of wool.

This cumbersome style pretty much remained the same through the beginning of the 1900s. But then, something changed. Australian swimmer Annette Kellerman became famous for her fight to allow women to wear a fitted, one-piece, less conservative bathing suit - a fight that eventually led to her own line of swimwear. Kellerman was also credited with creating the sport of "synchronized swimming" and, after her swimming career, went on to become a famous actress.

The advent of Kellerman's new, more stylish bathing suit started in1907, when she was in the United States as an "underwater ballerina," performing the first water ballet - synchronized swimming - in a glass tank at the New York Hippodrome. During that US visit, she went to a Boston beach wearing one of her bathing suits and was arrested for indecent exposure, because the suit showed her arms, legs and neck. She redesigned her suits to have long sleeves, legs and a collar, but kept the close fit.

From then on, the bathing suit design continued to slowly shrink, a process that led to today beyond-skimpy styles. First, arms began to be exposed. Then the legs, up to the mid-thigh, began to be shown. Collars slowly began to creep lower, eventually down to the top of the bosom. Materials were more relaxed, lighter and closer fitting.

By the time the 1940s arrived, the world was ready for its first real version of the "bikini," which bore little resemblance to today's bikinis. While still covering most of the space between the shoulders and hips, the bikini did have a space under the breast that exposed bare midriff. Despite the reasonable assumption that the word "bikini" is derived from the word "bi," as in "two," it isn't. The bikini is named after Bikini Atoll, a reef off the South pacific where nuclear weapons were tested and detonated. Like the atomic bombs, the new two-piece suits were expected to have an explosive effect. Then, 1946, a bikini was worn by fashion model Micheline Bernaderdini at a Parish fashion show. It was explosive, and the rest is history.

For the next 10 years, the shrinking bikini bottoms came up only to the navel. But then came the rebellious, revolutionary 1960s, and, like in the popular song "Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini," bikinis got smaller and smaller. In another breakthrough, in 1964, the cover of Sports Illustrated magazine featured a bikini-clad woman, another first. The bikini's popularity continued to grow, and in the 1990s, the thong - the smallest of small bikinis - became a fad in the United States.

Beach-goers today have an abundance of choices when choosing bikinis: the thong bikini, triangle bikini, tie-front bikini, halter bikini, demi-cup bikini, cut-out bikini - even frilly bikinis, belt-buckle bikinis and yes, a one-piece bikini. Take a look at the latest in bikinis and other fashion trends at www.2hotbrazil.com.

In most cases, but not all, you will find that the larger airlines are the ones who tend to offer the cheapest flight into Hawaii.

In addition to your intended Hawaiian destination, it is also important to examine your point of departure. A large number of travelers have no idea the huge role that their departing airport plays. For example, there are some instances when travelers can save one to even three hundred dollars on one airline ticket just by driving an extra hour to another airport. While many travelers may be able to save a large amount of money by departing from a slightly further away airport, you may be unable to do so, but you are still advised to check because you may be able to find a large number of relatively cheap flights to Hawaii.

How you make your travel arrangements, namely your airline reservations, is also an important part of finding cheap flights to Hawaii. If you are looking to make your airline reservations individually, you are urged to examine the airlines that fly directly to Hawaii. If one of those airlines also offers flights in or out of one of your local airports, you may be able to make your reservations online, directly through the airline. You may be able to find a number of cheap flights to Hawaii this way, as a number of airlines are now trying to compete with online travel websites. Speaking of online travel websites, you may be able to find cheap flights to Hawaii by booking your reservations though a traditional online travel website or even one that deals specifically with Hawaii vacations. What is nice about many of these websites is that you can make your reservations individually or in the form of a vacation package.

Cheap flights to Hawaii are available. All you need to be able to do is find them and by keeping the above mentioned points in mind, you should be able to do so.

The Best Hands On Museums in Florida Hands Down

By Chris Blackerby

Kids have oftentimes equated museums with the word boring, and us adults, who tried to take them to one, should know this better than anyone else. But today, museums are slowly taking the spotlight for themselves as they heat up the competition on family activity lists and begin to take on a more hands-on approach on their visitors, kids and adults alike. And with Florida's best museums on the forefront, learning has never gotten this exciting.

First on the list is the largest science center in the Southeastern USA, the Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI) in Tampa. Their 25th Anniversary Exhibit, The Making of MOSI, showcases rare items and archives never before displayed for the public. And their upside-down car race, The Vertical Rider, is also a big hit for the kids.

If you're child gets easily overwhelmed, then small and local attractions such as Fort Myer's Imaginarium Hands On Museum would be your best option. The museum boasts fun new family activities, including a station to predict and broadcast weather like on TV! The museum also allows the children to actually play with the exhibits to promote better learning.

Miami Museum of Science and Planetarium goes out of its cosmic boundaries to offer an outdoor animal exhibit and indoor exploring adventure with an Indiana Jones-style twist. Some of their popular exhibits include, Newton's Notions, an exhibit on the Physics of everyday stuff and the Immersion Theater, which takes you inside a virtual human body in a small spaceship.

Explorations V Children Museum in Lakeland is another small community attraction with big ideas! The museum offers exhibits on the life of a Florida orange, a school house, a bank, a playground, a clinic and many more all designed for play and exploration by kids!

DAYTONA USA is not entirely just a racetrack anymore. Now it offers features for kids who want to learn life on the fast road. Experience driving simulation made realistic with bumps, assist in almost real pit stops, and join in on many more fun activities for both kids and daddies alike.

Florida museums are finally realizing the importance of fun in making kids learn. They're offering more and more exciting family activities to serve this purpose. Make sure to visit them if you want your kid to have best learning experience ever.

Plenty of women travel alone these days. A post on this website suggests that no woman should travel alone outside her country. She can take a friend, companion or a family member along with her. She should not go to pubs or bars alone as people may misunderstand her intentions. She should divide her money and keep it in separate bags. Also she should have photocopies of her travel documents and tickets made and kept in different bags for safety. She should not forget to carry basic things like indigestion tablets, sewing kits, some buttons and hooks. Also she should always have a box of tissues and toilet rolls near her as all places are not hygienic.

Money should be divided and kept in different places and in different bags. Photocopies of passport, travelers' checks and important documents should also be kept in different bags along with addresses and contact numbers of people back home. A box of tissues and a toilet roll in the hand luggage are advisable as all places in the world are not hygienic. Be careful of strangers and do not go alone to pubs or bars. Controlling expressions when seeing something different is also advisable. Dress should be like the locals so that you do not stand out. Be careful of what you eat. It is safe to stick to fresh fruits and safe drinking water.

Recent posts on this website give information of skiing in Niederau, Puerto Galera, Cruises in Sydney and others. There are several travel packages which you can choose and enjoy with your family.

New Year in Australia is grand. The spectacular fireworks are something to see and watch. They are unforgettable. You can plan your holiday down south at this time as it will be warm there. There will be several cruises to choose from and you can really have a taste of the local food, dance, drinks, and shopping. You can enjoy a lot of sports and relax totally during your vacation.

Why Renting by Owner Can Save You Money

By Kevin Mitchell

At ShoreRentals.com you will find matchmaking at its finest. This beach lover's website is where vacationers go find their shore accommodations. In turn, ShoreRentals.com is where owners go to list their house, townhouse, condo, or villa for rent to vacationers. And there, they find each other!

Not only is this convenient, but quite often renting by owner can save money for the vacationer. Property owners, eager to rent out their beach property, are pricing competitively.

At ShoreRentals.com, owners can compare their rental units to other similar rentals in the same location. Listings include detailed pictures and descriptions of the rental. The savvy owner understands that to price their property attractively will help them stand out among the competition.

Where? At ShoreRentals.com. How? Because we rent properties that are carefully screened and viewed prior to posting them on our web site. Private owners take better care of their properties and you end up with cleaner units, and better weekly, monthly or seasonal rates, because they manage them themselves. This puts more money in your pocket!

To further maximize financial savings, owners who do not have their property rented out during a certain period will often negotiate their price in order to fill vacancies. Conveniently advertised on ShoreRentals.com's homepage are "Last Minute Owner Specials" offering vacationer's further savings. Another ideal time to visit the shore is during off-season as there is less tourist demand and prices are lower. On each property webpage potential travelers can check the availability calendar and easily contact the owner to discuss possible discounts.

When renting directly from the owner, the vacationer quite often gets more for their money than a basic hotel room. Often furnished and decorated individually, rental properties are more comfortable, flexible, and offer more variations, such as a kitchen. Renting accommodations with a kitchen allows vacationers to prepare their own meals at less cost than eating at out at a restaurant every night. Often those traveling with small children or big parties prefer to enjoy their meals in a more personal setting. People who are on restricted diets can avoid the challenges of trying to order from a limited restaurant menu by cooking what they want. Even those who stay at all-inclusive resorts find they don't end up using all the options for which they pay, regardless of whether they are used or not.

After a day on the beach, out in the sun, enjoying water activities such as scuba diving, windsurfing, sailing, fishing and swimming, many vacationers are so exhausted that all they want to do is retire to their accommodations to rest up for the next fun-filled day! So, save your money for more souvenirs and rent directly from an owner advertising on ShoreRentals.com.

If you're tired of lodging where the front-desk clerk can't be found, or high-end hotels where the doorman knows your every move and tips his hand at every turn, those tips can add up quickly.

At ShoreRentals.com, owners can compare their rental units to other similar rentals in the same location. Listings include detailed pictures and descriptions of the rental. The savvy owner understands that to price their property attractively will help them stand out among the competition.

Owners of these properties charge one upfront price for the rental length of time. Compare this to renting from a company that manages the property for the owner. Such companies often include additional fees due to the middlemen involved. These extra fees are never outlined for you; they are simply included. You can skip this bumped up rental price by renting directly from the owner.

If your dates are flexible, renting by owner can save you a lot on money. If you can find a last minute opening, the owners will rent condos, beach homes or bungalows to you at a DEEP discount rather then leaving the unit un-rented. Always ask an owner what dates they have open, and if there are any weeks they are having trouble booking, they may be willing to discount it for you. It's a win, win situation for both.

Select exactly what you want and make no mistake about what you get, be it a cozy hide-away for two, a modern high-rise suite, or a strand of units on the beach for a family gathering. Short or long-term rentals, ShoreRentals.com is sure to have one just for you.

Airline Travel Discounts

By Ada Denis

We all need to get away. Our vacations are the one thing that we look forward to all year. Unfortunately what happens sometimes is that we tend to feel the stress of how am I going to afford the vacation that I've been dreaming about? Well I hope that with a few of my tips, you will be able to get some airline travel discounts.

Here are some tips to find the lowest fare air ticket:

Buy tickets 3-5 months before your departure date

Some airlines offer discounts for early buyers. It's also best to buy your tickets at least 20 days in advance to ensure the best seating possible, most discounted tickets sell out fast. You should also know that Airline Tickets are subject to price increase, especially during Christmas season, so buying early avoids further ticket increase.

Never fly on weekends

If you're planning a trip, plan to leave on weekdays, preferable Monday to Wednesday. Weekends are high traffic times, for travelers and would probably cost you an additional $25-$40 increase.

Don't travel During Peak season

Airlines tend to increase ticket prices during Peak travel season due to the increase in demand. Traveling during low season is also advantageous if you want to avoid airport and tourist spot crowds. If you really have to travel during peak season, consider leaving home early and going home late to avoid the rush.

How long to Stay

Yes your travel stay also affects airline ticket prices. Airlines give discounts if you stay at least a week at your destination and return within 90 days.

Consider a Connecting Flight

Contrary to popular belief, direct flights aren't always the cheapest. Some people have saved up to $1000 dollars on booking connecting instead of Direct flights. If you don't have a lot of luggage, and aren't very particular with time, it is best, and a lot cheaper to book a connecting flight instead of direct.

Use the senior citizen discount

Some Airlines offer the same senior Citizen discount for the companions of the Senior Citizen. Ask if it's available.

The Early Bird gets the Airline Ticket

Call Airlines at 12:01 am on Wednesday mornings. This is when airlines release all the new fares and seat plans. You can be first and choose the best and cheapest tickets at this time.

Shop on the Internet

The best feature of the internet is that you see all available Prices from a very convenient place, your home. You won't have to canvass travel agencies. Some internet sites even offer internet only discounts that you can benefit from if you use their services.

When you do shop on the internet

Check first with travel agents regarding prices, Internet prices aren't always the cheapest, it's best to ask a good old travel agent. It won't hurt to look at news papers too, as some airlines publish discounts on print. If you're planning to buy more than 6 months in advance, it's probably best to ask a travel guide as internet sites don't usually have schedules for longer than six months.

Airline travel discounts are everywhere; you just need to know how to find them! I hope that with these tips, that's exactly what you are going to be able to do. Now go out there and get that lowest fare air ticket! Happy travels.

14 Tips to Get Inexpensive Airline Tickets

By Ada Denis

Do you enjoy traveling? I do and am perpetually on the lookout for new and innovative ways to find airline travel cheap. Rather than dropping a bundle on the price of the airplane ticket, I'd rather spend my hard-earned savings on other things like splurging on a great dinner or shopping. Given this, I have put together a few tips to help in your search for inexpensive airline tickets.

1. Purchase a package. Buy airplane tickets, hotel, and car rental together and often you can save when comparing individual prices.

2. Flying one way is great but also usually the most expensive. You can save money by opting for connecting flights.

3. Check neighboring cities. As an example, if you are planning on flying into Orlando, FL, be sure to check out prices for flights to Tampa instead, as these flights are almost always less expensive and usually not too far out of your way.

4. If you are not traveling out of the country, consider flying on one of the smaller airlines for the major carriers as you will usually save on the purchase price this way.

5. Be sure to use the Internet to check out last-minute discount fares on the airline's main website. Start looking midweek for the upcoming weekend.

6. Be patient and wait for an excellent price to come up. But when you do see a great price go ahead and purchase it, so always have in mind what your definition of a "good price" is so you'll be ready to grab it at a moment's notice. You never know when those awesome prices will show up.

7. If possible, you should be flexible with your leaving and return dates. Sometimes if you just adjust your dates by as little as one day you can get a cheaper price. For example, leave Wednesday and return Sunday instead of leaving Tuesday and returning Saturday.

8. If possible, book your tickets directly at the airline's main website. If you use a travel agency, even one online, they will charge you an additional fee. It will also be much more simple to correct any problems if you are dealing directly with the airline itself instead of a travel agency. Believe me, I speak from experience on this one!

9. Mornings are sometimes the best time to check for tickets, and Saturday and Wednesday mornings are good days to take a look for some great prices. And don't feel you have to stay over on a Saturday in order to get a better price. In the past this was thought to be helpful but not so much anymore.

10. Don't forget to sign up for frequent flyer miles. It's quite surprising how often people don't take advantage of this perk. Even if you fly different airlines, sign up for each airline's frequent flyer program. The miles add up faster than you realize.

11. Flying one way? This doesn't always work but be sure to check for round-trip prices as well as one-way since there are times where it is actually cheaper to fly round-trip.

12. If you plan to travel on a holiday, be sure to book your tickets well in advance. For one thing, you will have a difficult time getting the seats and dates you want if you wait until the last minute, but you also will save on ticket prices by purchasing early. However, be sure of your itinerary because if you have to cancel or change your travel dates you'll likely end up forfeiting any savings you had made.

13. Make sure you always book your flights at least 3 weeks in advance. This will get you the best prices. The earlier the better in this case. Never buy tickets within 7 days of your planned departure if you can help it, as you will usually pay a significantly higher price.

14. Consider traveling on the so-called red eye flights. Check with your travel agent to see if you can save with these late-night flights. You can often save as much as 25% or more off the ticket price this way. You'll miss out on seeing the scenery you might see during the day but you'll be more likely to snooze your way through the flight and time will go by faster.

Important Tips in Finding Cheap International Airline Tickets

By Ada Denis

Wouldn't it be nice to travel all over the world? How would you like to see the great pyramids in Egypt and even get the chance to explore pharaoh tombs? Don't you just want to see the lushness of the Amazon River and get in touch with nature? Have you ever traveled along the Great Wall and let yourself in on a first-hand experience of the culturally-rich Chinese lifestyle?

Yes, traveling is one of the best perks in life. Nothing beats a vacation which involves international travel. But of course, we all know how international flights can be too expensive and painful on the pocket. Even if they say that nowadays everything comes with a price, we still find it difficult to shell out something just so we could travel across countries.

Still, there's no need for you to worry. There are cheap international airline tickets which you can avail nowadays and they do fit any type of budget real well. So even if you cannot afford to really be all luxurious about the travel process, cheap international airline tickets are here to enable you to experience the world for a much lesser cost. Here are some tips you can use to help you find these great deals.

The first important thing which you should be well aware of is the fact that the prices of airline tickets change constantly. There's really no fixed price on tickets, so the best way to go about it is to keep a tab on the price changes. Once it hits the numbers which you can actually afford, go make that action and purchase those cheap international airline tickets. To aid you with this, you should also research first regarding the possible price range of tickets for the travel destination you chose. The latter would help you gauge just how much budget you can actually allot for airfare.

In addition, be aware of tourist peak seasons. Some travel destinations become so popular on an annual basis. For example, Paris can become a tourist love spot during the month of February. This is because the city is known for its romantic mood and its familiar destinations well-suited for honeymooners and couples alike. So if you plan to go here during February, don't expect you'll get cheap international airline tickets if you'll buy your airfare during the month itself.

One important tip, is that you have to educate yourself about the best periods to buy tickets. You have to balance the period of buying your airline tickets with how much actual budget you have at that time. Sure, the period is good and the prices are great but if you do not have enough savings yet, you won't be able to afford it. Usually, the best period to buy cheap international airline tickets is four months to a couple of weeks before your actual flight. If you cannot afford it yet, you can also choose to make reservations first and pay the amount in full as soon as you have the needed budget.

Everyone is looking for Cheap Travel

By Madeline Hernandez

Whether across state lines or international, cheap travel is very important to businesses that rely on the ability to travel. When doing business in person is required, travel makes it easier for businesses to grow and not be confined within their immediate area. Cheap travel may not always be an option when there are time constraints or someone else is responsible for booking the travel arrangements. Planning ahead and creating a travel budget is a very important consideration for all companies.

We believe that the average consumer will be looking for cheap travel to visit family or take vacations. College students on a budget, as an example, need to be able to afford to get home and visit family during breaks and for the holidays. Whatever the circumstance, consumers will look for the best deal they can get. Why pay more for a trip when you can possibly get the same trip for significantly less! If the trip is only $50 dollars less, wouldnt you spend a little time if it would help find a great deal?

Plan ahead as it doesnt take much time to do a little research. Cheap travel is not hard to find with so many travel sites online. Finding those great deals you were hoping for may take a little more time, but its definitely possible to find a good deal.

The most expensive part of your trip will most likely be the airline ticket, how many days and nights you plan on traveling, the level of comfort you seek and transportation arrangements will need to be taken into consideration. It will be necessary to keep all of this in mind when looking for great deals on your travel package so expenses will not be more than you planned for. Another deciding factor on finding cheap travel will be where in the world you plan on traveling and definitely the time of year in relation to where you want to go. Do you mind traveling during popular tourist dates or do you prefer less populated times to visit your destination? As an example, if you would like to go to Paris and people watch then August probably would not be a good time to go since Parisians tend to leave the popular capital area during this time but in October the same area really comes to life. These deciding factors will make a difference in the price you pay. If you pay attention to which of your destinati
ns have peak season and off season, that will determine the cost difference and if you are financially able to travel during specific times of year. Determine this, Is finding cheap travel more important than why I am going to visit this destination? Airtravel Infos - Traveling with Sports Equipment

By Tanja Martens

Are you passionate about sport? If so, there is a good chance that you are going to try to incorporate sports in your next vacation or business trip. If you plan enjoying a game of golf or a part of baseball, it is likely that you will need to bring some sports equipment with you. However, did you know that there are some restrictions on these points? If you plan to travel with sports equipment, the sport is not what this equipment is intended, we recommend that you familiarize yourself with these rules and restrictions.

As previously mentioned, golf is a sport that many travelers enjoy participating in. If you are planning on traveling with your golf clubs, you will need to treat them as checked baggage. All airlines currently have a ban on golf clubs being used as carryon luggage. Due to the cost of most golf club sets, you will either want to leave your clubs at home or properly protect them. If you are traveling to a golf resort or other popular vacation destination, there is a good chance that you should be able to rent a set of golf clubs. Although they will not be your own, it is nice to know that your set is safe at home.

In addition to golf, baseball is a sport enjoyed by many. Like golf clubs, baseball is forbidden to serve as carryon luggage. If you plan to enjoy a game of baseball, during your next vacation or business trip, you want to store your baseball bats in a suitcase that can be securely transported safely through various airports. While baseball are banned from aircraft cabins, there is no mention of other equipment, such as spikes, helmets, or baseball. For your convenience, you can store these other supplies baseball in the same place as your baseball bat, in your checked luggage.

Of course, if you are planning to enjoy hunting, when on vacation or a business trip, you will have to keep their supplies in your checked baggage. All bows, arrows, and firearms are strictly prohibited from being in aircraft cabins. In fact, if you try to pass through a security checkpoint with these items, it is an excellent opportunity to be stopped by airport security, for further interrogation. Although it may not necessarily think, bows, arrows, and firearms are not only used for recreational purposes, but also are used to harm others.

Additional sporting goods that are banned from being included in his carryon luggage include pool cues, ski poles, sticks lacrosse or hockey sticks. As with all other issues, if you are concerned about the security of their sports teams, customers are encouraged to reconsider its decision to bring the team along. You can help protect your computer by making sure that everything is properly and safely packaged, but there is no guarantee. You also advised against relying on compensation from airlines if your sports team suffers damage.

As previously mentioned, there are sporting goods, which are altogether banned, but other rules are not so clear. If you are trying to decide whether or not you can pack other equipment in your carryon baggage, such as masks or other protective gear, it is advisable to call in the morning before leaving for the airport. In the event that these items are banned, you may have to make other arrangements. Regardless of whether you choose the items back to your car or by mail to your home, you may needlessly wasting time and money.

Nero's Domus Aurea - An Ancient Rome Tourist Attraction Delight

By Jill Kammer

Recently Rome opened the Golden House of Nero to public viewing and it is an attraction not to be missed. It is interesting that the ruins were discovered long ago during the Renaissance but it was in the late 20th century that they were prepared to be seen by you and I.

Everybody knows that Nero fiddled while Rome burned. The Golden House of Nero was built in 64 AD after that huge disaster and it is filled with amazing finds. Nero spared no expense on himself using gold plating liberally and filling the ceiling with precious stones to honor himself. Sadly, these riches cannot be viewed if you go there. Looters had their way with the Golden House of Nero not long after the decadent ruler passed away.

Nero's opulent home actually covered a huge 350 acre grounds which boasted fine vineyards and a lake made just for him. But something unusual about this "home" of Nero's is that there were no bedrooms in any of the 300 rooms. This is not to say that during those wild orgies we know about, many didn't just fall in a stupor all around the house and grounds.

One of the most striking features of the palace at the time was the 40m (130ft) high bronze likeness Nero had done to honor himself. This amazing art work is still on display outside the Colosseum.

Time has taken its toll on the Palace of Nero, but it's still worth taking a few hours to go on the audio tour that is offered. It's a fascinating and satisfying tour and if you are in Rome in the fall, the city is friendly and the weather perfect.

A great way to take in this ancient structure is through the guided underground tour that goes lets you view the amazing paintings in the vaults and rooms. This is a rare chance to see artwork done by the famous artist Fabullus who used the Pompeii artistic style.

For us, the artist Fabullus may not be well known, but great artists such as Michelangelo and Raphael were inspired by him, and those that saw his work at the Golden House of Nero left their names etched into the walls. Names like Casanova and the Marquis de Sade can also be found there if you look for them.

You won't get bored on your tour - you will see some rooms in ruins where it's difficult to see the artwork. Then around the next corner you will be greeted by beautifully restored rooms, their walls glistening with stunning art and gold and marble ornaments as striking as when Nero admired them.

It's great to admire the many grottos in the underground rooms but when you get to the Octagon Room, that will be a memory maker. The art in this room was how Nero honoured the Greeks (he was a big fan of their work), including a wonderful statue of the Dying Gaul that is now on display at the museum at Palazzo Altemps.

But don't miss out on enjoying the great gardens and grounds during your stay. The organizers also have a replica of the Octagonal Room for you to examine which will give you a real feel for how it was to live in this amazing time in history in Nero's house.

St. Peter's Basilica - A Vatican City Must-See When In Rome

By Jill Kammer

St. Peter's Basilica, otherwise known as Basilica di San Pietro has always been a tremendously popular attraction of tourists to Rome. Visitors to the site can happily pass a day taking in all there is to see there. Of the many popular locations in Vatican City, St. Peter's ranks high in popularity and number of visits by tourists.

The popular lore says that Saint Peter is actually buried here but that legend is not backed up by evidence. The real history of the location of St. Peter's is that it probably sits on the original Circus of Nero from the first century.

The historic Christian Roman leader by the name of Constantine was the one who ordered that a basilica be built on this spot in the fourth century. That construction actually happened 1000 years before the construction of St. Peter's.

Hundreds of years later construction started on St. Peter's Basilica using funds diverted from the holy war with the Turks by Pope Leo X.

But like most large scale construction efforts during this phase in history, it took decades to finish the church in the late 16th century and the project had many architects and was overseen by several Popes before it was done.

St. Peter's is a tall building even by sixteenth century standards. From the floor to the very tip of the cross on that famous dome above, the basilica towers 445 feet in the air. That dome is a revered part of the Roman skyline and it is an amazing architectural design all by itself. None other than Michelangelo himself designed the great dome and that famous Renaissance artist employed a double-shell design technique that was created by San Gallo.

Even though Michelangelo was made the architect in charge of St. Peter's in 1546, the completion of the masterpiece came long after his death. With the passing of the great master, one of his students, Giacomo della Porta went on to complete the work in 1590. The design plans of the brilliant architects of St. Peter's are often utilized in other great buildings including the Capital Building in Washington DC.

That dome was a durable design and it was 200 years later that the first cracks showed up in the surface. To contain these cracks from doing any more damage, four huge chains of iron were attached to the inside of the shell. If you were to climb the winding stairs between the dome shells, you would still see those chains today.

But the dome is not the only thing that makes St. Peter's Basilica a work of art. The church itself covers six acres of land and it is so large that 60,000 believers can crowd into it for worship. That capacity has been reached a number of times when the different Popes held mass or other ceremonies in the basilica.

The outer facade of the basilica is large as well, standing at 148 feet high and 377 feet wide and there are many statues gracing the outside of the building as well.

The basilica also hosts over 100 tombs of well known figures from history. You can feel history around you including the tomb of Queen Christina of Sweden. History tells us that she gave up her royal crown in 1654 so she could come to Rome and become a convert to Catholicism.

There is no doubt that the most revered and valuable art work in the basilica is Michelangelo's Pieta. You will find it behind protective glass after a lunatic attacked it with an ax in 1972.

When touring the grounds outside of St. Peter's in addition to the dome, there are a number of notable and historical art works to look for.

If you look, you can find several very old clocks including one with a bell that goes back all the way to the thirteenth century. You also won't have to look too hard to find the large Egyptian obelisk that adorns the grounds that was brought here from where it originally stood outside of Nero's Circus in the 13th century.

As is true all over Rome, two wonderful artistic fountains can be found in the square outside St. Peter's. On the south side is a fountain made by the brilliant artist, Bernini who created it in 1675. Bernini also created the second fountain near the apse of the church, the Triumph of the Chair of Saint Peter which is not to be missed.

A trip to Rome would almost be incomplete without including at least a couple of hours to wander at your leisure taking in the majesty of this amazing display of outstanding architecture from the Renaissance period of history.

Using Public Transport in Manchester to Avoid Congestion

By James Steven Blackburn

Manchester is the UKs second city after London and like the capital boasts a large transport network with many different ways of getting around the city:

Metrolink - The Metrolink has been running since April 1992 and has become a quick and easy method of getting in and out of Manchester and around the city centre with trams running from Bury in the north of Manchester through the centre and to Altrincham and Eccles in southern Greater Manchester. The city centre has seven tram stops with two at Manchester's major railway stations, Victoria and Piccadilly which provide transport links to the rest of the country. The trams run every 12 minutes and are quick to get to the centre with the longest journey being taking 25 minutes to get from Bury to Manchester. The trams also provide a quick link between Piccadilly and Victoria stations where passengers may need to go between the two stations to catch their next train.

Bus - Manchester has several major bus station situated on Chorlton Street, Shudehill Interchange and Piccadilly gardens. These are all situated within walking distance to Manchester's two major railway stations, Piccadilly and Victoria. All three bus stations are also very close to a Metro stop. Manchester runs a series of free buses which people can jump on and off at any designated stop and Manchester features a series of bus lanes on roads in and out of the city to assist the buses in keeping on time.

Train - Manchester Piccadilly station is the busiest major station outside London in England for passenger use and handles over 83,000 passengers each and every day. Manchester train network has links with every major town and city in the country. Piccadilly's main link is with London Euston with a journey time of two and a half hours.

Car - Manchester?s road network is busy, but this is understandable with almost 3 million people living within the county boundary. Manchester does feature the M60 ring road which circles the city enabling easy access to various roads into Manchester meaning that drivers don?t have to drive through the centre and can go around and in on a different road which can be quicker for them.

Plane - Manchester Airport has the fourth busiest airport in the United Kingdom and is the busiest outside London handling over 22 million passengers a year. The airport features good train and bus links with the city centre meaning people transfer quickly to the city; this is very useful for those who are attending meetings in the city centre.

As you can see above, Manchester's transport network is very well linked together with many interchanges to assist passengers go from one type of transport to the other quickly so they can continue their journey with a minimum of disruption.

Manchester does have a series of proposed changes and improvements to the current transport network. Mainly the tram network is going to be extended so it reaches more towns surrounding Manchester and also the airport bringing another valuable link to help people get where they need to go quicker. Also planned is an increase in the amount of trams which run along the lines with new trams being bought to run alongside the existing stock.

Improvements to the train network are also proposed with the aim of more carriages on a lot of services during peak times. Also new indicator boards are proposed at stations to give better information to passengers so there is no confusion over where the train arriving is going to and when it will arrive.
