What to Look for when Chartering a Private Jet

By Daniel Pott

"Luxury must be comfortable, otherwise it is not luxury." Coco Chanel quotes

"It is impossible to overdo luxury" French Proverb

"Nothing gives me as much pleasure as traveling. I love getting on trains and boats and planes. " Alan Rickman

Let's face it: If travel is a necessity, then always go first class. Yes first class can be fabulous on a commercial flight, with everyone watching as you stop in front of the plane going up instead of having to go back and sit in one of those tight spaces with everyone else. Exclusivity is always great and nothing says "exclusive" luxury as an apology. Renting a private jet is a great way to separate the desire of the good life of those who are not afraid to go for it, no apologies given. But why hire a private jet in the first place and secondly, what do you look for when deciding which company charter from?

Why go private?

*C-O-N-V-I-E-N-C-E; what the customer wants, the customer receives. If the client wants to leave 10 minutes earlier or later than planned, this can be ordered without worrying about the other passengers. No need to worry about lost luggage or pets: just carry them on the plane with you.

*You can't beat the luxury aspect. Big, gorgeous chairs, pretty table settings instead of the TV table set-up and your own stewardesses there to serve you. And whatever you want to eat, it is yours:

Appetizer Escargot Mushrooms

Main Course: Cedar Planked Salmon served with Maple Glazed Sweet Potatoes covered with Bacon and Caramelized Onions

Dessert Warm, Golden Plum Souffle

Privacy can help you seal the deal. If you want to spend time with your husband or wife, why not take a trip to Monaco? Sounds great, but would not it be even better to spend time alone on the road to Monaco? Only in a private jet can you embrace each other in a quick flight over the water without causing a spectacle. And some private planes have sleeping spaces, so a husband and wife can be even closer... and everything is done in private.

What is the 411 for booking one?

1. When booking a private charter plane, the company is supposed to help you make the best decision that will benefit you and your needs, not vice versa. If a company tries to get you to do something you do not feel comfortable, politely say no thanks and move on.

2. Always go for the company that can fly from anywhere in the world. When you are spending a good amount of money, you should be able to get whatever you want. The sky is the limit shouldn't just be for how much you spend.

3. Research, research and more research; ask around for reviews and references. How do they handle luggage issues, pets and other lost and found items?

4. Ask about transportation to the aircraft and from the aircraft. When you are spending a lot on travel you want to ensure that you are getting the most for your dollar and not needed to spend additional funds.

Summing Up

The saying is that "You get what you paid for"; no truer words could be said when discussing the potential of chartering a private plane. Only get the best and leave the rest alone.
