You Don't Need A Passport To Have A Tropical Adventure

By Lillian McDonald

There are many areas which provide us great beaches and a toastier climate. But a lot of these places, like the Hawaiian islands, the Bahamas or even Puerto Rico are simply too much of a financial burden to be sensible in these days of economic hardship.

But thankfully, even if you are too cash strapped to go to Fuji or Cancun, there are a lot of great spots on the pacific coast that will not only satisfy your craving for sand, sun and surf, but will not likely leave you feeling broke. California is a state that hosts a lot of the climate and vistas that most people search for while maintaining the comforts of a mainland state. Because of its advantageous location, there are many cities here that do not disappoint when it comes to a great beach experience with all of the sights and activities.

Try San Diego for instance. A great American city with a beautiful coastline that encourages people to take part in water activities and delve into beach culture within the country, and more importantly, all while fitting into the average American's budget. You get the wonderful paradise setting of Hawaii, or the party on the shore experience of Ibiza, without even leaving the country. San Diego is home not only to the great beaches but also to a lot of other entertainment parks and establishments. Make sure to check out Balboa Park or perhaps thrills of Belmont amusement park. Connect with the wildlife in San Diego Zoo and San Diego Wild Animal Park or pay a visit to the famous Sea World in San Diego. There are a lot of things to do here in a widely varied mix of activities you wouldn't find in an average beach setting. Imagine, you get the beach experience that so many desire while still maintaining access to other forms of entertainment in one city.

While you're vacationing and as you're in the San Diego area, take into account that there are multiple options and many different ways you can go with lodging accommodations, which include hotels, chain motels, bed and breakfasts in addition to beautiful Bluegreen resorts. Since there is such a huge number of people that visit the area, there isn't any shortage in great hotels and other accommodations that will surely cover many different budgets or preferences.

At the end of the day, we do not have to sacrifice the time off work that we all need to spend time with the family in a spot that is conducive to fun. Of course, this is true as long as we plan our vacations right and early. There are always things that anyone can do with limited financial means and the Pacific coast offers a lot of world class amenities and sights.
