Hard-Core Bodybuilding - What is the Job of Dietary Fat?

By Victoria House

Becoming educated about the uses of dietary fat in your diet is necessary if you want to succeed at bodybuilding. Essential nutrients, like essential fatty acids, have been discussed in bodybuilding circles. They are called essential because the body cannot naturally produce them. So essential nutrients must be found elsewhere and eaten in some form. Although there are eight known essential fatty acids, only omega 3, 6, and 9 are generally talked about. For many functions that are important in bodybuilding, each of these components has a different role.

Even if you aren't a bodybuilder, you should be steering clear of foods rich in saturated fats. Saturated fats are solid at room temp and are derived from animal fats. So naturally that piece of advice is extended to bodybuilders, as well. Within the body's cells, cholesterol is involved in several biochemical pathways. So it is recommended to include a certain amount of saturated fats in your diet because it is believed that cholesterol elevates testosterone levels.

If you excessively lower the amount of fat you intake in your diet, then you can truly slow down the rate in which you gain weight and reduce the growth in your muscles. By just limiting the fat intake more than necessary, the reality was spotted during some experimenting. The thing that was learned is that if fats are decreased to the extreme, it caused a slump in both the free and total testosterone levels. The testing was not difficult and the results were categorical. After the test subjects could eat foods that had fat in them, then the testosterone levels went back to where they were usually at.

Increasing testosterone levels in your body can usually be achieved by taking some bodybuilding supplements. To avoid taking supplements that increase your testosterone levels, simply supplement your dietary intake with foods containing saturated fats. It is probably not healthy to eat foods with too high of a saturated fat level, especially if you are not working out. Testosterone is a hormone that can be produced easily every day within your body as long as you eat a healthy amount of saturated fats. When you follow this regimen, you will no longer have to purchase extra supplemental products to enhance your testosterone levels.

Dietary fat ingestion is a key to success as you begin bodybuilding because of the tension placed on your body. Due to these factors, using high-quality sources of knowledge from responsible sources is important as you begin to educate yourself. Without fail, perseverance to the sport will influence your learning. It is your option to compete and should not influence your devotion to the sport. Efficacious use of your body is important due to the amount of work it took to reach your goal.
