When You Tour This Wonderful Old City

Two of the most popular vacation areas in Spain are the Costa Blanca and the city of Torrevieja. This region of Spain opens is sunny days and warm hearts to vacationers from across the globe. Northern Europeans really enjoy escaping the cold wintry blasts in their home country and coming to either of these two vacation lands. Whether it's the large group of retirees and others from the United Kingdom, or vacationers from across other parts of Europe, many have chosen to purchase their very own holiday properties in this region as their second residences.

Torrevieja is only fifty kilometers from Alicante. Travelers regularly land at the Alicante Airport otherwise known as the gateway to the Costa Blanca where they pick up their rental cars, and tour throughout the area. The city of Torrevieja, was given its name because of the old salt tower in the city. It's been there since the eighteen hundreds and translates into English as old tower.

The Costa Blanca has the greatest vacation temperatures in Spain throughout the year and is the place you really want to be. There is so much to see and do. Travel to the Costa Brava in Spain which is to the north is of little cooler and better because of the proximity of the mountain's. According to the United Nations World Health Organization, the Costa Blanca climate is actually one of the healthiest in the world. Over the past half century the name Costa Blanca on the Eastern coast of Spain the Mediterranean Sea has become synonymous with "the white coast."

The Costa Blanca offers miles of sandy beaches from Denia North to the city of Torrevieja in the south. You'll discover that there is less mountainous terrain in an around the city of Torrevieja. This city in is regions offer palm tree lined it boulevards and wide sandy beaches. The city and is regions are famous for salt lakes which also serve as the cities major industry. Driving in and around this city as well as the Alicante region you can see salt lakes from the road.

This is where the city's industry produces half a million tons of salt each year for most of the dinner tables across Europe. When you tour this wonderful old city there are two things you must do. Go to the waterfront each morning and watch them on load the fishing catch for the day then attend the nearby market and choose your lunch or dinner.

The other item has to do with your health. There are many natural benefits from the salt baths and numerous spas in an around this ancient city. The salt baths have the reputation of healing skin conditions, arthritis, and other maladies. Your holiday, exploring this ancient city, will be enjoyable destination year after year as you enjoy nearby cities on the Sun coast known as the Costa Blanca.
