Paris Hotels And The World of Cabaret

By Claire Collins

Whether you're travelling to Paris for a girly shopping weekend or a romantic break away, there's one activity that will entertain everyone and is not to be missed while you're staying inhotels in Paris: Cabaret. The key to a perfect weekend in Paris is finding something truly spectacular to do in the evening, and there really is nothing more impressive than a good Cabaret in the city.

Many people will be familiar with Le Chat Noir (The Black Cat) which began in Montmartre in the 1880s. A group of artists with various skills and talents will come together to put on a truly one-of-a-kind show, and it was this which lead to the rise and rise of cabaret as we know it today.

The Crazy Horse is another well-known name in the cabaret performance industry. Not only is it one of the biggest acts in Paris, this is one of the world's sexiest shows. Yet it's not at all lewd. Despite the nudity involved in the performance, the focus is on beauty, decoration, dance and music. Sensuality is in the design of the decor and elaborate - but minimal costumes. For a show like no other, this is one not to be missed.

Of course, you can't consider Parisian cabaret and not include the world famous Moulin Rouge. Giving its name to the red light district in Paris, this show began in the late 1880s and has now become a household name. Painters, film directors, and writers have all captured this world famous show ever since, helping to seal its fame.

There are plenty of hotels nearby, or, for those who are keen to be close to the buzzing nightlife yet not be right amongst it, quaint Montmartre is just a stroll up the hill. Head into the red light district and enjoy an incredible show of dance, music, costume and seductive beauty, which after all, is what people keep coming back for time and time again.
