Holy Spirit Hospital, Pennsylvania Health

By Chris Matthews

Holy Spirit Hospital in Pennsylvania wants to treat you, body and spirit. As part of a Catholic community health system, their mission is simple: pass on the healing power of Jesus Christ. They do this through the trained hands of skilled physicians.

Emergency services and pastoral care are available twenty-four hours of every day. While doctors look after for your loved one, clerical staff will look after you. Just a few calming words or a steady listening ear can soothe emotions and ease fears during times of extreme stress.

Besides emergency and pastoral, the hospital provides specific services. Staff cares for cancer and heart patients. They bring babies into the world. With a full-service pharmacy on-site, be sure to get important medications, topical numbing cream for children or just appropriate bandages and other accessories without leaving the facility.

Another feature of the hospital is its information service. Find out more about how you as a man, woman or senior can look after yourself properly. Get advice on how to help your child at any age with medical concerns. Go to their web site and find out the answer to a pressing questions which may turn out to be nothing. They also have library facilities. While on-line, find their donor information.

Stay at the Harrisburg Hampton Hotel when visiting a sick relative or even a doctor working long hours who just happens to be your friend or grown child. An alarm clock will ensure that no part of a visiting window is missed, even if you must meet that person for a midnight snack during night shift. When family must take turns holding vigil at a bed side, blackout curtains will ensure you get rest even during the middle of the day. Burn anxious steam on the basketball court or in the pool.

Should someone at the hospital need to contact you, there is a telephone with voice mail. Bring your recovering parent back to the hotel and ask for disabled rooms, just until he or she regains full mobility. To relax and block out at least some of your worries (or anticipation while waiting for a new grandchild to be born) watch in-room movies, play video games and make coffee.

With a microwave and fridge, there is no need to even leave the room. Heat up snacks and never miss a call. Breakfast is served downstairs and remembering: missing meals does not make you an effective care-giver.
