Which Shows Should I Go See in Las Vegas?

By Kyle Chapman

People are always asking me about shows in Las Vegas. "Which ones are the best?" My answer is always, go see for yourself! Seriously, shows are a big part of what makes Las Vegas well, Las Vegas. Everyone should experience at least one Vegas show. So here is a little guide that will help you determine which shows you will like the best.

The Blue Man Group is a must see in Las Vegas. Located in the Venetian, this group uses music, comedy, and unique theatrics to provide great entertainment. They appear to be from another planet, as they don't speak and they are painted blue. However, the way they interact with each other and the audience is truly amazing, and hysterical! This is one of the most popular shows in Las Vegas, and is a must see.

The Cirque du Soleil shows are really something unique and special. They use acrobatics and music to amaze crowds of people night after night. The performers are very talented, and their performances are very good. They have multiple shows in town, which can be found at the MGM Grand, Bellagio, Treasure Island, Mirage, Luxor, and New York-New York.

If you like comedy, some of the best in the world stop in Las Vegas. Caesars Palace hosts Jerry Seinfeld, and his act is quite good. His act is also pretty clean, so don't be afraid to bring those with sensitive ears along. Ron White and Brad Garrett also have great acts at the Mirage. They are a little raunchier though, so keep that in mind. Ron White's comedy is very similar to what you'll see on his Comedy Central routines. However, he has revamped his act, so don't expect the same exact jokes. Brad Garrett's style is picking out members from the audience and makes jokes about them. His act is gut-wrenching and will keep you laughing all night.

There are still some adult themed topless shows in Las Vegas, and two of them really stand out. Fantasy at the Luxor is a newer style Las Vegas showgirl routine. The girls play out common male fantasies. The show incorporates music and some comedy, and it really is great. Jubilee! is located in Bally's, and is more of a traditional showgirl routine. The show has flashy outfits, music and dance. The final product really is quite good, and worth checking out.

Magic shows are always a great time. Two of the greatest illusionists/magicians have shows in Vegas. Lance Burton performs at Monte Carlo, and David Copperfield performs at MGM Grand. These two are the best in the business, and you won't be disappointed with either.

Hypnosis shows are a good change of pace. In these shows, a couple of audience members are asked to participate to be hypnotized in front of the audience. They often end up doing things that they wouldn't normally do in front of a group of strangers, and it is usually very funny. Mesmerized is a show at Planet Hollywood, and The Uncensored Hypnotist is a show at Paris. Both of theses shows are good options.

There are enough shows in Las Vegas to satisfy people with all types of different tastes. It just depends on what you feel like seeing on any particular night. No other place has as much talent and variety, so you should take advantage of it and see a show or two. Trust me, when your trip is over you'll be glad that you did!
