Steps on How To Succeed in Trade Shows

By Mara Hernandez-Capili

Some exhibitors may have experienced poor sale performance during trade shows. They often wonder why, after spending hundreds and for some, thousands of dollars for a booth display. They often wonder what has gone wrong. Well, you may want to follow these tips to avoid experiencing the scenarios listed above.

First usual problem is the product itself. Most businesses do not sell because the product they are selling is either defective or not in a good condition. Make sure that as you start to venture in your business you should be able to create good and saleable items. It is important to make useful, aesthetically pleasing product that is tough and does not break or ruin easily. Always keep in mind that customers look for quality products in top of everything else.

Next is to create an excellent marketing strategy. Make leaflets or product briefs containing images of your products and some information of it and your business too. These leaflets are effective tools in making your products known to people during fairs. If possible, create clear and concise information on your leaflet. Do not forget to place your name, booth location and contact numbers on the leaflets as it will be completely useless without this information.

Next is to make your booth or display as eye-catching as possible. Design your space with colorful patterns and pay close attention to details. You may also want to use other means like music or speakers to promote your booth and catch the consumers attention. You may also want to provide freebies for people as you may have higher chance of having your product promoted by suing this.

What is the best marketing tool in selling your stuffs but yourself? Yes, you! Try to put on a happy and cheerful face and greet customers even though they dont buy from you. Have a positive and friendly attitude in answering your customers questions and interacting with them. Treat each one as a friend because when the sales competition is balanced, people will tend to buy from someone they have good relationships with.
