Hawaiian Tourism Brochure Details Multiple Tour Opportunities

By Larry Pudoky

The "Aloha State" of Hawaii joined the United States in 1959. Located in the Pacific Ocean, this island state is one of the most popular vacation sites in the United States. In Hawaii tourism and agriculture are major aspects of the economy and the two often work in tandem to produce revenue for the state through the tours of the pineapple, coconut, and macadamia farms. Look for tourism brochures located all over the islands for information on available tours. Hawaii is a beautiful collection of islands with volcanoes, lush vegetation, a tropical climate and magnificent beaches of all sorts.

Hawaii is the quintessential vacation paradise, with much attention paid to the quality of tourist attractions available to guests of the islands. There are thousands of rental properties available, from the most humble surf shacks to the very opulent five star hotels. The different islands each provide different styles of tourist spots depending on the specifics of each area. There are 6 major islands available to tourists. They are Maui, Oahu, Kauai, Lanai, Molokai, and the "big island" of Hawaii. My family really enjoyed our trip from Algarve, Portugal last spring.

Maui is second largest island in size and covered in some of the most amazing beaches Hawaii has to offer. There are the black beaches of Waianapanapa State Park, where snorkeling is very popular. There is also the Red Sand Beach area of the isolated Kaihalulu Beach. Also discover and swim in the Seven Sacred Pools of the Oheo Gulch or hike the Pipiwai Trail to the Waimoku Falls.

Oahu is famous for the popular Waikiki Beach, humongous waves on the North Shore, and Pearl Harbor's memorial and museums. The Dole Pineapple farm is also available for tours, and there are several opportunities to see authentic luaus and hula dances.

Kauai is a romantic island destination, and is the oldest in the chain, with many beautiful historic landmarks. Kauai is also home to the "Grand Canyon of the Pacific Northwest, the immense Waimea Canyon. The beautiful golden sand beaches are popular wedding and honeymoon getaways on the Coconut Coast. Tours of the Napali Coast's cliffs are also available and highly recommended.

Lanai is an exclusive style luxury island. There are several beautiful resorts, and golf is a very popular pastime here. The Munro Trail of pines offers an unbeaten path for hikers who come to Lanai, and The Garden of the Gods rock formations of Keahiakawelo is another available attraction.

Molokai is inhabited mostly by the natives of Hawaii with Polynesian ancestors from many centuries on the island. It is a less traveled tourist attraction, but offers a three block business district with the benefit of fine gift shops without huge crowds.

Hawaii is not only the state name, but the name of the largest of the islands. Hawaii is bigger than all of the other islands put together and is home to both snowy mountains and sandy beaches. Kona Coast is the place for snorkeling, scuba diving, fishing and boating. The most active volcano in the world, Kilauea, is on the island of Hawaii in the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, the state's top tourist attraction.
