By Mercie Hallow

Scrap booking is an art that has been around since the 16th century. Scrap booking is craft making using photographs and accents on photo albums. Scrap bookers or Scrap booking crafters is earning a lot from it by turning their simple hobby into a money making opportunity. Scrap booking is a womans hobby though some men nowadays enjoy making one too!

Scrap booking is a fun, easy and creative way to dress up your photo albums. Scrap booking can effectively organize your photo albums: from your baby pictures to favorite family vacations. Scrap booking is considered as a womans hobby although some males are into scrap booking as well. Scrap booking as an art is a very fun way to look at photo memories with art.

There are many materials available in scrap booking. Basic materials involved in scrap booking are: a photo album, pictures, art or patterned papers, scissors and art pens. You may want to be a bit more creative and add embellishments such as buttons, ribbons, dried up leaves or petals, glitters, etc.

For your first scrap booking project there are two basic kinds of albums that you may choose from: ring bounded albums and book bind. Ring bind has leaves held together by rings. It varies from three ring bind to multiple ring bind albums. Book bind albums have leaves bounded by book binds.

There are a lot of ways on how to save money for crafters. One tip is to use recycled glass jars as container boxes for buttons or other embellishments. A used silverware tray may also be used to separate scrap booking knick knacks. Cigar boxes, candy jars and juice bottles are also excellent storage for embellishments.
