Medicines in Plants: Florida Herbal Fair

Herbal medicines are often used during the past when pharmaceutical companies are not around to manufacture medicines to cure peoples ailments. Our forefathers were bright enough to research the medicinal capabilities of plants to use them to cure sick friends.

One type of herbal medicine is the Lagundi plant. Lagundi plant is for the relief of cough among adults and children suffering from cough and its side effects. Lagundi leaves can be taken as tea by boiling the leaves in water. It is the best alternative to relieve cough in patients as it does not have any side effects.

Another type of herbal medicine is the Sambong plant. Sambong is anti-diuretic meaning it can aid in the relief of urination often experienced by blocked kidneys. Sambong can help relieve the kidney of crystals that block the urethra. Sambong leaves can be boiled and the water should be drank by the patient. It helps eliminate Urinary Tract Infection.

Malunggay leaves are for lactating mothers. Malunggay leaves aid in the fast producing of milk in a mothers mammary glands. It can be taken as a tea or a soup. Malunggay leaves are a little bitter to the taste and a combination of sugar and honey is advisable when taking it. Malunggay leaves can also be boiled and drank. It is also advisable to drink it as it is.

Amplaya or bitter gourd plant is proven to lower the risk of Diabetes in patients. It helps regulate and maintain the sugar levels in the bloodstream. Ampalaya is a medicine for a person suffering from diabetes. While it is an excellent herbal medicine, it is also a famous meal ingredient. Ampalaya is both nutritious and medicinal. It is one of the plants that have herbal qualities.
