When Your Company Needs A Private Jet, But Can Not Afford It, There Are Many Options

By Daniel Pott

A lot of companies are in need of a private jet. They have important clientele and important staff members which need to get from one place to another swiftly. Oftentimes they have to travel with just a few hours notice. There are 3 essential choices that a corporation or individual has on the subject of a situation like this. The 1st alternative that they have is to purchase a private jet or helicopter of their own.

This of course will be the most convenient direction to go, but it is also the most expensive. The cost of the plane can range from a few hundred thousand dollars for something used and small, to tens of millions of dollars. This will be open to the budget and the need of the customer for them to choose. Once purchasing the plane, you have to hire a crew and have a place to store the plane.

There are quite a few things that go into owning and operating a private plane, that is why many companies choose to use a service that, for a fee will organize and take care of all the details for them. If purchasing a plane is not the optimal option or if the need for flying is less than one hundred hours in a calendar year, then there are two other options. The next option is a flying card which many different companies offer.

You purchase an amount of flight time on the card and then can use it whenever you need to fly. Depending on the amount of flight time and the type of aircraft you want to fly on will determine the cost of the card. Usually the minimum hours purchased will be around twenty. The nice thing about this program is that all you have to do is fly. You don't need to worry about any of the details of how the plane is kept or insurance or safety. The company takes care of everything for you. You just tell them when and where and everything else is arranged for you.

The final choice that you have is purchasing a stake in a particular aircraft. It is call fractional aircraft ownership and is exactly what it sounds like. You but a piece of a plane and with it you get a certain amount of hours in the air. Again, you do not have to worry about maintenance, housing or the crew.
