Plan A Fun Las Vegas Vacation

By Adriana Noton

Some people mistakenly believe that a Las Vegas vacation has nothing to offer those who are not into gambling their money away and gulping down cheap drinks. It may be true that Sin City comes by its nickname with just reason, but there are plenty of things to do besides throw dice and push buttons on a slot machine.

Every major resort in the city manages to offer a variety of activities all under one enormous roof. People who want do not want to have to deal with transportation during their vacation are able to stay put and have everything they need. They may enjoy fast food, cafe fare, buffet or fine dining. Gamblers can choose from a variety of slot machines and table games, including poker.

Touring the city is easy for guests who want to get out and around. Most people find it easier to take a taxi, limousine or bus to get around the city because navigating the roads can be confusing and intimidating with so much going on. Brave drivers can rent vehicles of all kinds including exotic automobiles and classic cars. Free parking is available almost everywhere except downtown where there are garages that charge per hour.

If budget allows, a helicopter ride over the Strip offers spectacular views of the city. Tour companies offer flights that vary in duration and distance. A night flight is even more breathtaking with the neon lights spread out below.

Visitors looking for a thrill can arrange to drive a real race car on a professional speedway or spend the afternoon learning how to indoor skydive. The city features a handful of roller coasters and a zipline that carries riders under a lit canopy downtown.

Summer visitors can beat the heat at one of the resort pools. Most have huge complexes with multiple pool areas, hot tubs and wave pools. Some have real sand beaches and others are more like nightclubs catering to young adults with DJs, bikini contests and all day drink specials.

Vacationers looking to be pampered can book an appointment at a day spa and enjoy a massage, facial, or alternative treatment. Full service salons are located inside many resorts and offer pedicures, manicures, haircuts and styling services.

For people who want to get away from the crowds, several smaller casinos are located within just a couple miles either west or east of the Strip. Many of these have large gaming floors and lower gambling limits. Casual gamblers may feel more comfortable playing in one of these establishments. Guests can enjoy live music for free in the lounges and grab a bit at a restaurant. Many of these places also have bowling alleys and movie theaters offering family entertainment.

Shoppers will find plenty of places to spend money regardless of budget. Independent stores offer every kind of tacky souvenir imaginable and can be found tucked into corners here and there along the Strip and downtown. Many upscale resorts have shopping malls to match. These places feature designer stores selling clothing, jewelry, shoes, and luxury items of all kinds.

It is possible to customize Las Vegas vacations to fit visitors of any age. Regardless of budget or interest, there are exciting activities to fill a long weekend or an entire summer vacation. Be sure to have your caa insurance ready as well.
