The Splendid Selection Of Vacations

By Clinton H. Xavier

Taking a vacation is something that everybody enjoys. There aren't too many feelings that are better than leaving work for a couple days or weeks. When you are on vacation, you can do whatever you want, and go wherever you want. Many people imagine a family vacation as loading the kids up in the car and driving or flying somewhere like Disney World.

But the truth is that there are plenty of different kinds of vacations. Depending on your interests, lifestyle and relationship or family status, you can choose from a huge variety of vacations that will be perfect for you no matter who you are. In this article, you'll learn about just a few of them.

Everybody knows about the traditional vacation. You gather the kids together, drive or fly somewhere, spend a couple weeks there, and hope you have a good time. When you come back you invite all your friends over to watch a slide show of the wonderful pictures that you've taken. Many people do this every year.

Sports vacations are also popular. If you like a particular sport, you can take time off and go somewhere where that sport can be played every day. If you like skiing, you go to the mountains. If you like surfing, you go to the beach. These vacations are great if you are young and active.

One kind of vacation that is getting more and more popular is the retreat. This used to be only for ultra religious people, but they are being applied to many different subjects of study, from personal development to wealth creation. They are usually held in hotel conference rooms for a few days or more.

Educational vacations are also becoming more popular. These are where you study a subject in a college classroom setting. About half your time is spent learning theory and background, while the other half is spent learning from a hands on experience.

Vacations are a wonderful thing. Now that you know about some different kinds, you can get out there and enjoy the world.
