Activities You Can Indulge in Singapore Without Booking a Tour Package

If you are visiting Singapore for a short time and you don't know what to do, don't stress. Here are a few activities which you can engage in along with what you can expect. Your stay in Singapore can be both comfortable as well as exiting at the same time. Singapore has often been referred to as the gateway to Asia with good reason as it provides a perfect blend of western and eastern culture providing the perfect transition from west to east. Be it architecture or be it shopping, you name it you will see all in Singapore. It is a happening city where each day is a new experience. Various events right from walking on the street to attending world class performances hardly require any planning. Even if you are a lone traveler, the multitude of events and venues in Singapore will not let you down.

Before you step out on the streets of Singapore let's get a snapshot view of what this city offers you when you are in transit. If you run a search on Google, Yahoo, Bing and bring up review sites you will get to read that most travelers state that Singapore is a safe place to travel either with family or alone and that's even at night. Public transport is very efficient and you get to see the signboards all planned properly. The city is well organized and is planned with tourist in mind so that you never lose your way. Food is easily available and if hygienic as well as tasty. Singapore is country where you will get to see people buzzing around the place speaking in various languages such as Malay, Chinese, German, English, Hindi, Tamil, "Singlish" - Singapore English slang.

With the Increased hazards that we impose on nature Singapore has lately experienced change in weather conditions. It can be either sunny or rainy in any given day. This happens throughout the year. You may find that some days are cloudy while other days are sunny. During December to January there are frequent showers which may last for a few days at a stretch. Though this may not sound appealing it should not disappoint you as the pathways are all interconnected by covered passages and underground subways. During March to May the climate is much drier and the temperature may vary between 24 to 31 degrees. During the months of June to September Singapore experiences early afternoon showers with thunder.

If you are in Transit and its only a few hours that you are in Singapore don't stress about it, you can still have a great time in Singapore. It will give you an overview about what the city offers to you. So if you have 3 to 5 hours that should give you enough time to relax and take a break.Here are a few things that you can do during this time. Enjoy a free chair massage at the Oasis Lounge, you will get free internet access at the airport so you can send that email letting your family know you are safe. There are about 500 internet terminals in the airport. At the Entertainment Deck, Terminal 2 you can play online games or walk into the MTV booth to catch your favorite music video on a large plasma television. At Terminal 1 you get to watch Star Movies located next to the food gallery and of course the mall is huge with lots of enticing stuff.

Don't miss out on a full body massage. Its great and at the same time it allows you to relax. You can avail of this service at the Rainforest Lounge located at the Transit Mall. There are plenty of lounge areas where one can chill out with a glass of wine or a cocktail and enjoy the relaxing music before you are all set for your next flight. If you are in Transit for more than 3 hours then do take the opportunity to see Singapore through a very short tour. This is a free service provided at the airport by Singapore Tourism. The tour is for approximately 2 hours and you could choose based on your interest whether you would like to view Singapore culture or you could opt for the Colonial Tour. If you would prefer to do your own thing rather than go on a tour then you could use the free shuttle service provided at regular intervals. This shuttle bus service stops at prominent locations such as Little India, Bugis Street, Suntec City, etc...

We hope that you take the time to get to visit Singapore. There are many Singapore tour packages out there that could serve your purpose. Before you visit Singapore make sure you know your flight details and any connecting flights that you have to catch, along with visa requirements to have a relaxed stay at Singapore. Make sure that when you are leaving Singapore you are at the airport at least 2 hours in advance before the fight departure times.
