Crafted Emotions in Georgia Craft Shows

By Seamus Willingham

Every individual has talent, that's for sure. Some are quite talented at sports, some are handy in the kitchen. A select few have interests and hobbies that most people haven't heard of before. These keep us surprisingly unique from one another. It is another one of the qualities that separate us from other species.

Of all these hobbies, however, the art of crafts making is perhaps the most rewarding of them all. This is due to the fact that the hobby produces something physical and enduring. Unlike food that gets consumed, or sports that are only kept in the memory of the fans, the crafts that you make will last long after you are gone.

Thus, it is helpful for your crafts to bear a hint of your own personality. This will naturally come into play, but it bears noting that there are some who fail at this. They try and try, but the crafts that they create come out as lifeless and bland. These people, I'm afraid, are simply trying too hard. Crafts should reflect the soul, and as such the crafts person should never try to make something that she feels aren't right. Make something that you feel like doing, and not a superficial crafting fad that you've only seen recently.

Crafting is a richly rewarding hobby. Notice that your emotions at the moment you crafted the items, will also be apparent in the final product. Personally, I prefer to do my crafted works when I'm in a thoughtful mood, as it adds a bit of "depth" to the piece. Often times, a stroke of genius is all it takes for you to turn your project in a 180 degree turn and pursue a new path, one that is probably more profitable for you. Of course, this is for a few minority.

Likewise, some people like to do their crafts when their moods are at a different end of the spectrum. They wait until they are angry or depressed and then they craft away. Their final pieces take on a "wilder" or "gloomier" feel to it. Which works for some people, as well. This sort of style fits in with all sorts of decorating disciplines. By having a wide variety of media that caters to the different aspects, different personalities and different moods of people, you are opening yourself to a market of a whole new level.
