See The Sun Rise And Set In Ocean City - Maryland

By Deb Schwabe

The boardwalk in a beachfront town or city is generally the most exciting part of that town. Some places it is called a promenade, but basically it is the same thing. This is the place where vacationers take their walk to take in the health-giving sea air, families ride their bicycles, and runners take their morning or evening jog. It is also the part of the city which comes alive at night and the Boardwalk at Ocean City - Maryland is all of this and more.

One thing you have to do when you are on vacation is stop counting the calories; this is because there are so many good things to eat. Eating is fun and is an integral part of your relaxation therapy. In Ocean City you will find Maryland crab cakes (delicious) boardwalk fries, saltwater taffy, Delmarva fried chicken, fresh pizza, and many restaurants with exceptionally fine dining.

Speaking of food, one of the favorite free activities in Ocean City during the summer is the Sunday's Sundaes in the Park. Sunday evening sees a free concert in the park for adults as well as entertainment and other activities for the kids. This is free! For a small fee, the kids, or you for that matter, get to build your own ice-cream sundae.

Sun-rise, sunset... No beach holiday is complete without a couple of these spectacular natural displays. Walking the beach as the sun dips down behind the horizon in a spectacular display of color, is one of the best experiences anyone could have. And waking up especially early to try and catch the sunrise on the beach will be worth making the effort.

This city has an interesting history and you can visit the Life Saving museum or explore the histories downtown area to infuse yourself with some culture and history. There is also good antique shopping available in both Snow Hill and Berlin.

A visit to Assateague's wild ponies is a must when you visit Ocean City. It is only a 9 mile drive to reach these nature trails, where you can pony spot, bird spot, look out for elusive deer and fox as well as walk the trails.

One of the things OC is famous for are its free activities and there are a whole host of these available for the entire family. Tuesdays to Sundays, you find activities on offer every evening and during the day. You could be enjoying a bonfire and storytelling on a Thursday, boogying on the beach on Wednesdays and watching movies by the light of the stars on a Friday.
