Scrap for a Cause!

By Mara Hernandez-Capili

Many of us have lots of unorganized pictures left untouched may it be inside boxes, or memory cards and flash drives. We wish for them to be arranged , but never get around to it- free time is often the most precious time for most of us, we'd rather do something fun than sit and slip photos in an album. Ever consider having a hobby? Try Scrapbooking, it is a fun and easy way to express yourself, go back to the past spend time with the family, trust me you'll enjoy it.

1994 was the year that Scrapbooking came into existence, it was established bya well known album company called Creative Memories . It is a growing hobby all over the world; it is a method of preserving personal and family history in the form of photograph and clippings. A scrapbook is an album or place where you could paste photos and clippings, while a scrapbooker is the one who does scrapbooking. It is one fun way to preserve family memories and making new ones with new found friends.

This annual charity event in Michigan is for the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, for its pioneering work in finding cures and saving children with cancer. St Jude was founded by the late entertainer Danny Thomas. No family ever pays for treatments not covered by insurance, and families without insurance are never asked to pay. St Jude is financially supported by its fund raising partner ALSAC.

Scrapbook day "crop day" is an all day crop day in Scrapbook Caf, it is an imaginative festival here you'll meet different kinds of crafters and the main goal is to raise resources from hand made product of the participants and some donated by patrons. The event is packed with activities and entertainment. Arts and Music are combined with a hearty cause.

A Scrapbooker or just a fan of scrapbooking you are welcome in this event, if you cant clip and paste then buy raffle tickets, or place bids on some of the items what matters is your presence and your ideal to help others just by attending the event.
