Alabama Craft Fairs and Festivals Are Fairly Simple

By Rick Amorey

The things that could be sold at a craft show are many. As long as you put your heart and mind to you craft, and you have a passion that resists harsh criticism, then you will eventually be able to make good profit by using those talents.

Some things are easy enough to make, requiring little time and effort to do. Although you'll be able to see that a lot of the crafts being sold in fairs are due to years of talent and practice. If you want to earn a bit at craft shows, or you just want to complement something you've already made, then it's a good idea to attend a craft show and see what's already available at the moment.

The first idea is a relatively simple one, and can be done almost instantly. This would be to make cheap but good-looking jewelry. Try these out with beads; get some bracelets and start placing the beads one by one. Don't forget to check the length from time to time; do this by wrapping it around your wrist. When you have them all placed in whatever fashion you like, then you can stitch the ends together. Voila! You've just made a nice little bracelet.

From time to time, you can switch from trinkets to objects of value. Like things people use on a daily basis. Each year, as the world gets hotter and hotter, people seem to like the idea of buying handmade soaps. If you want to try this one, you can go about it by looking for bars of unscented soap. Then find some lavender oil, almond oil and food coloring. Melt all the ingredients together and when you're satisfied with it, take it away from the flame to harden. You can now cut it into smaller bars to sell.

A similar procedure can be applied to make scented candles, which are all the rage these days as it accentuates an otherwise plain room. You will need candle wax instead of plain soap, and you will need to find the right type of scent to match, but the process is more or less just as easy.

Even if you believe that you possess little or no talent, you can make a small business at a craft show in Alabama. Attend these events and set up a booth, and you'll find that it may be a good way to earn a small extra in these times. It never hurts to have extra on hand.
