Urban Living in Utah - Why to Move Here!

By Jake Richards

Utah is one of those places that you have to experience to understand it. If you talk to people about Utah that have never been there, you get a lot of strange ideas! A lot of people I've talked to assume that most of Utah looks either like a bunch of ski resorts or it's a crazy desert like Moab. The truth is that yes, Utah offers all of these things. But it also offers some great urban living!

Things to Do

Salt Lake City is the largest urban and suburban area of Utah. There are plenty of great restaurants and things to do in the city, but even in the surrounding area there are lots of things to do.

To the East you have the Rocky Mountains and some of the greatest snow on earth. But if you're more of a summer person, you can also enjoy numerous activities in the mountains as well.

Utah also has a lot of lakes that can be used for all sorts of water sports. To the west of Salt Lake City is the famous Great Salt Lake. There are also plenty of fresh water lakes to enjoy as well.

Salt Lake City is also home to the Utah Jazz! We are also home to the MLS team Real Salt Lake. We even have a minor league baseball team and arena football team. So no matter what your sport of choice, you can find a way to enjoy it live in Utah.

And when it comes to working, Utah is home to a ton of large companies in any field. Whether you're in technology, manufacturing, or any other field you can find a good job here.

Activities at a Short Distance

If you're willing to drive a little bit outside of the urban areas of Utah, there are a lot of other things you can do as well. Just head north or south and there are tons of activities to do and things to see.

As mentioned before, Utah is home to some of the best snow on earth. And, you have plenty of resorts to choose from! Alta, Snowbird, Park City, The Canyons, Sundance, and more all have their home in Utah.

If you decide to drive to the southern parts of Utah you can find some of the most beautiful National Parks that any state has to offer. Utah is home to Zion's, Arches, Lake Powell, and Bryce Canyon. With all these national parks you'll have plenty to explore.

Why Move to Utah?

Simply put, Utah is a great place to live. With all of the things to do and places to work, Utah is in my opinion one of the best urban living cities in the country. Don't believe me? Visit for a week or more sometime and see what you think! We have everything that you can imagine when it comes to housing, so come for a visit sometime!
