Brisbane's Market Culture

From food to designer clothing, if you enjoy to shop the markets in Brisbane are the place for you.

On a Sunday morning you can browse through the many bargains at the Rocklea Sunday Discovery Markets. They have a selection of bargains from second hand books to gourmet dog treats. All the stalls are undercover and there is a selection of breakfast options including bacon and eggs, German sausages and Greek yogurt. Some of the stalls to visit include antiques and collectibles, homemade goods, second hand clothing, toys, CDs and DVDs. With it's live music playing and the smell of food, this is the perfect way to spend your Sunday.

City Farmers Market is open every Wednesday from 11am till 6pm. They have every thing from bread to organic and gluten free items. It is not a shaded area is not shaded and tends to be a popular choice for local employees on their lunch hour.

The Young Designer Markets features some of Brisbanes most talented designers and artists. Some designers to look for are Mike Harris from SUGOI, who designs prints inspired by Brisbane's culture and lifestyle and Sasha and Troy Strebe from DEBRIS BLANC, who offer personally hand made jeans that are one of a kind.

On the second Sunday of each month, at Showgrounds, you can enjoy the Mount Tamborine Market. With plenty of space to browse and and a performance stage it is the perfect atmosphere for all. It is also family friendly, offering pony rides and a children's play area. Here you will find fresh produce, plants, herbs and flowers, arts and crafts and clothing for sale. Witches Chase Cheese Outlet and Mount Tamborine Boutique Brewery are also not to far, so you can visit them after the market and make it a great day out with friends and family.
