Indiana Crafters and Craft Shows

By Mara Hernandez-Capili

Craft shows are great venues where a talented and skilled crafter can have fun doing what she loves to do and earn income at the same time. Craft fairs are great venues to display superb workmanship by our skilled artisans. Most people love to go to craft fairs especially those who are always on the look out of something "new" to add to her growing collections.

Spring craft fairs at Indiana are held every April or as a celebration of the onset of Spring. It is a fun and jovial gathering. At spring craft fairs, people are perceived to be more cheerful and happy. The reason is because it is the first day of the year after months of people's confinement in homes because of cold and snow.

There are plenty of handmade crafts at craft fairs. In here, we can see a hobby transformed into a money making opportunity. Crafters are "small business people" who are able to transform their hobby into a money making opportunity. It is not just money that they gain from doing so but it also contributes to the contentment and nourishment of their souls, doing the things that they love most.

I once read an article that in order to be successful at your chosen "vehicle" you must spend 10,000 hours in doing it. You should also be "abnormal" about it. What exactly am I talking about? I'm talking about Bill Gates tinkering at his computer at age 13 and Tiger Woods playing golf at age 3. Right now, these men have spent more than 10,000 hours in doing what they love most and look at how their "abnormality" transformed them. They are now once of the most successful men in the world- just because they chose to hone their craft.

It works the same way also with crafters, by spending more hours working at and improving their crafts they just might create another world class product. Visit the spring craft fair at Indiana and marvel at soon-to-be world class products by talented crafters.
