Auto Swap Meet in Duncan

By Mara Hernandez-Capili

Car enthusiasts always join together to create an organization dedicated to increase public awareness on cars. Organizations dedicated to cars hold meetings and auto swap meets where their cars can be put up for various shows. Expect to see antique cars and rare pieces that are well maintained and cared for by their owners. Auto swap meets are places where you can bring out the car obsession within you. Swap meets also have part sellers and fabricators and car enthusiasts under one roof.

A friend of mine was a car aficionado and a member of a prestigious organization of antique cars. His fondness for cars dates back to his early teens where he would model cars out of cardboards and painstakingly paint and add details to them, mimicking their real life counterparts. He would then collect matchbox sizes of these famous cars and add up to his collections. He has over thousands of them now, all models of real life cars stored up into a dedicated room in his home.

These kinds of people are what we would always meet in auto swap meets. They are very eager and enthusiastic to bring along their cars and look for spare parts. Others bring their cars to include it in the car show to see if it could win. Auto swap meets are also a place for sellers to show their stuffs to eager buyers. It is also where parts fabricators and car accessories dealers can be seen.

Auto swap meets are also places where cars are occasionally sold at a lower price margin. These are places where the newest car models and also the oldest can be seen. Car prices are reportedly much lower in swap meets compared to showrooms. Bargaining for the cars prices and asking questions regarding its working conditions are welcomed as the previous owners are very much willing to answer your questions.

The Oklahoma Swap Meet in Duncan will also feature live entertainment and a car race for everyone to enjoy. Races are usually stopped by the organizers when the weather is not that good. However, spectators and members are encouraged to have fun driving and showing the product of their hard works- their cars.
