Traveling is enjoyable and exciting, even when you're traveling for business. One thing that spoils your travel fun, though, is paying too much money to do it. Keep reading to discover ways to save money on your travel expenses without sacrificing the quality of your trip.

It is not uncommon to provide the housekeeper and bell hop with a tip. The typical tip is a dollar per bag of luggage and anywhere from two to five dollars per day for housekeeping. Doing this will not only show that you appreciated the work they did, but it will also foster a good relationship with them.

A vacation does not mean that it has to be far from home. There are many fun experiences to be had in your home state, or even in your home town. You can stay close and support the local economy, while you also save money. There can be some really amazing trips just a quick drive away.

Know ahead of leaving for a cruise if you are prone to getting seasick. It will ruin your cruise vacation. You won't enjoy the cruise at all, you'll be laying in bed trying to feel better. By knowing if you are seasick before your cruise, you can avoid illness by purchasing medication before your trip. Medication may not always be available and can often be expensive once you embark on your journey; avoid days of misery by being prepared.

Plan ahead and exchange some of your currency before you leave on our trip. Sometimes exchanging currency can be a difficult task, so it's best to get it done before you truly need it. The bank is your best bet for a safe exchange for another country's currency.

Make a list of what you need to pack. You should start this list at least one week in advance, preferably earlier than that. The list should include all of your necessities for the trip. This will keep you away from chaos no matter how late you pack.

Visiting the desert is surprisingly enjoyable due to gorgeous views and interesting flora and fauna. There is something especially memorable about deserts for the first-time visitor, and no one should go their entire lives without experiencing the austere majesty of the desert.

If you are taking your dog with you on a trip, they should be well trained and ready for any situation you may encounter. Your dog should be trained in voice command and put on a leash when visiting different tourist destinations. Controlling your pet ensures their safety when you travel.

Be sure to bring plenty of bottled water when traveling out of the country. Most of the drinking water in other countries is not purified and cause a variety of different illnesses. Even when you brush your teeth, do it with bottled water. Just using the bad water to brush your teeth can make you sick.
