The Best Of Paris

By Adrian Fletcher

Of course, everyone dreams of falling in love in the most enchanting spot on earth-Paris. But if sparks don't fly or if you are backpacking with someone who is just a friend or family member, then here are the very top things to do and spots to see that if you won't find the love of your life here, you will, at the very least, fall in love with the city.

The Eiffel Tower

No denying it, the Eiffel Tower is pretty much the symbol of Paris. There probably isn't a traveler on Earth who normally would miss this iconic highlight. Since you have already come so far, why just take a look when you could literally climb your way to the very top where you could enjoy the breathtaking view? You take the stairs, the stairs will probably take your breath. Think about out, every year over 6 million folks come to go to it, so why should you be left out.

Notre Dame Cathedral

You do not need to be religious to appreciate the beauty of the Notre Dame Cathedral. With its French Gothic style of architecture, ravel at the intricate carvings, the flying buttresses, and the ornate gargoyles guarding the roof up high. To really marvel in its beauty, you must look all around, from the outside, to the inside, and even all the way to the top.

The Louvre

You also can not miss the Louvre and its pyramid. You do not need to be a big art fan to enjoy this museum. Being the biggest one in the entire world, you will have a myriad of works to behold from paintings to sculptures all done by artistic geniuses of the past- Leonardo Da Vinci's prized Mona Lisa, or what about the great Venus de Milo? With over 35,000 on display, even a whole week won't be long enough for you to see everything. So, unless you have all the time in the world, the highlight tour is recommended.

Double Decker Bus Tour

Another way to get the most out of the city in the shortest amount of time is to take a double decker bus tour. The L'Open Tour is certainly one of the best because, just as the name implies, the top of the bus is an open deck- no roof to block the sights! Just hope it does not rain. You can take either the one or the two day passes that are being granted. Once you have your pass, you could take 4 separate routes around the city that all feature only the best the city has to offer. You will also get some headphones so that you could hear all of the facts and trivia about the places you visit. You even have the choice of 8 different languages- English, of course, French, German, Russian, Japanese, Chinese, Spanish, and Italian.
