A Quick Etiquette Guide For Hotel Users In The City

By Benny Sexton

Booking a stay in the cheap hotel London is very common these days. It is however important to keep some very basic etiquette practices in mind as these are expected from the guests. On many occasions the basic expectancies may not be published by the hotel but will still be considered a general rule. These basic rules help both guests and staff to work together.

General Hotel Etiquette - You should bear in mind that you are essentially in a public place and should take care to conduct yourself likewise. When leaving your room or answering the door you should ensure that you are fully dressed so as not to alarm the staff or other guests. Try to refrain from using foul language when moving around the argyl street hotel.

Noise - It is always a good idea to keep the noise levels down to a minimum. Other guests might get upset if the television, radio or conversation in your room is too loud. There will be people staying there for a number of different reasons and some may want an early night or may have just gone there for some peace and quiet.

Keeping Things Clean - The cleaning of the hotel and the rooms is likely to be done by a team of cleaners and on a daily basis. This doesn't mean that it is appropriate to leave rubbish lying around everywhere. You should put rubbish in the bins that are usually provided and keep your room in a general state of tidiness. Putting any dirty linen into a neat pile that can be easily collected will make things a little smoother for the cleaner.

Tipping - Tipping is not a requirement but if you feel that someone deserves a tip then this shows your gratitude. If you're tipping the cleaner then do make sure that you do on the day and not at the end of your stay. This is because the cleaner may well be working on a shift pattern and someone new might be working when you decide to tip.

A Gracious Guest - Keep your demands to a minimum and be realistic. Of course you are paying for a service so you should expect to receive at least the basics. You should be able to relax and enjoy your stay without much stress caused by other guests or staff. You are expected to report things such as a dirty room or noisy guests, but too many unrealistic demands will be frowned upon.

It doesn't matter how much you paid to stay at the accommodation you should still try to exercise a lot of consideration for the people around you. If you and the others around you follow the basic etiquette then everyone is sure to have an enjoyable and relatively stress free time.

There are many cheap hotels London and many of them offer services that are above and beyond their price range. A good accommodation provides a good base from which to fully enjoy a holiday and following this basic etiquette guide will help to make sure that everything runs smoothly
