A Look At Vacations In Manhattan

By Richard Horowitz

Some people think that Manhattan and New York City are synonymous, but they are not. Travelling to New York City is something you should definitely experience at least once in your life, but let us face it, this is a labyrinthine city for the uninitiated. Manhattan is one of the five boroughs that are a part of New York City at large.

With all the numerous attractions in Manhattan, it could take you weeks to familiarize yourself with the place. You will want to first be familiar with how you can navigate your way around the city. Make your plans with the weather conditions in mind as most likely you will be doing most of your sight-seeing outdoors.

Manhattan has numerous attractions, but we shall narrow it down to a select few - the Statue of Liberty, Brooklyn Bridge, what was once the World Trade Center, Battery Park, Chinatown, Greenwich Village, Times Square, Central Park, and of course, the Empire State Building.

Manhattan is a lovely place where culture reigns supreme, and among the many activities you can do in this city would be taking a tour of the wineries, and of course, watching Broadway presentations, always a big hit. Taking a self-guided tour of Rockefeller Center to discover the art-deco masterpieces that this 19 story-building complex contains. Check out the sober grandeur of Grant's Tomb National Monument near Riverside Church, hey and while you are there go ahead and climb the Church bell tower to see the fabulous city views.

Want to see Manhattan without putting a cramp on your budget? Museum of Modern Art-, which hosts Target Free Fridays from 4-8pm, or Staten Island Ferry- where you can enjoy the skyline views, plus a trip to Staten, The Cathedral of St. John and tour the world's largest Gothic cathedral, Central Park - where nature never charges a fee.

Be aware of the major events planned year-round, this will give you an opportunity to choose a time that has more activities for you and your family. From somber reflection at Ground Zero to the exuberant performances on Broadway to our excellent dining, NYC provides an experience for any taste.

Oh, and by the way, did we tell you that the Manhattan skyline is still home to some of America's stateliest buildings?
