By Lincoln Morgan

It is often a decision to stay in any Kings Cross hotel whenever tourists come to Central London to visit or to spend a vacation. Kings Cross was both featured in the movie Harry Potter wherein the famous Platform 9 is located and in it was used as a backdrop in the musical video of the Pet Shop Boys called "Rent".

The Beginnings of Kings Cross:

Kings Cross started as a rural area in Central London. Due to the presence of Fleet River and a crossing over it, the area was named the Battle Bridge. In eighteenth century, the Fleet River's springs caused several spa enterprises to appear on the scene. It became popular because of that. And for that, it became popular. Industries were built which include gas works, but many of them failed. There were industries that came but many of them failed, including the gas works. Houses together with the statue of Kings Henry VIII were planned to be built in the area. Due to that statue of King Henry VIII, the name Battle Bridge was changed to Kings Cross. It is usually a presumption that when you mention Kings Cross, it is the Kings Cross railway that is referred to. The correlation must be probably from the fact that the railways contributed a lot to Kings Cross. Locals in Kings Cross will definitely admit that the construction of the underground lines have gravely changed a lot about the area. Many people were left homeless when the railways were constructed but these people were also given affordable housing.

Some of the Local Hotels:

In many a cheap hotel London in St. Pancras, the amenities and facilities are commonly basic, though luxury hotels are giving more than the basics. Hotels in London St. Pancras, mostly luxury hotels, are offering customers beyond the basic satisfaction by offering extended services. It can be easily spotted because it is located across the St. Pancras Station. It is a boutique hotel that is complete with elevators, air-conditioning, non-smoking rooms, laundry services and even safety deposit boxes for the tenants. Tourists and locals can get together in Kings Cross hotels to meet new friends and share new ideas. The locals can act as the tourist guides and take the tourists from the hotels to visit and view the nearby tourist attractions. With that, everybody has a chance to tell the others what they have recently discovered about the place, the culture and the pleasure of just being there. This is eventually an experience that will both help the tourists understand a lot about the culture and the place.
