Most Amazing Places in the World - Top 5

We live in a world that has some beautiful sights to offer. There are some amazing places in the world that simply must be visited during one's lifetime. There are some man made structures par excellence along with some sights of Mother Nature that simply cannot be defined in words.

Colorado Grand Canyon: Located in the United States, the Colorado River has cut one of the steepest gorges in the world. 18 miles wide, 1 mile in depth and over 275 miles long, this gorge is humongous. It is said to have been cut by the River Colorado over a period of 6 million years.

The Australian Great Barrier Reef: One of the most amazing places in the world, the Great Barrier Reef is also the largest coral reef on the planet. It also has the unique distinction of being both a National as well as a World Heritage site.

Taj Mahal, India: One of the wonders of the word, The Taj Mahal epitomizes beauty in its purest form. It was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in loving memory of his wife, Mumtaz Mahal. Built in pure white marble, this world heritage site is located in the city of Agra and is truly one of the most beautiful sights in the world.

Machu Picchu, Peru: Machu Picchu, meaning 'Old Peak' is located in Peru and is one of the most ancient historical places in the world. Legend also has it that it was once a very scared place for the Incas. It was built by the Incan people and has some beautiful stone structures that truly bring out the beauty of the place.

The Pyramids of Egypt: The Egyptian Pyramids are one of the most famous places on the planet apart from being one of the most amazing places in the world as well. Most well known among them are the Pyramids of Giza that were built centuries ago. Old records are a testimony to the fact that these pyramids took several hundred years to complete and attain their true glory.
