EVA Air And Its Catapult To Fame And Dominance

By Esteban Consuela Xavier

The name, EVA, derived from Evergreen Airways which was the original name of EVA. There are many ways to come up with a name for a business, and EVA comes from the letters in Evergreen Airways. The change of name was necessary, because the same first name was being used by a different flight company. International and Asian airports are the destinations of EVA flights, which originate out of the island nation of Taiwan. EVA's past history is much the same as any other airline, because they all experience similar things. Like many other airlines, the early 2000s were difficult financially, but they are again making money.

EVA had a tiring year in 2010, according to many aspects. They had expanded routes and management changes as well as bids for even more partnerships. By way of a new service route to Toronto, the company was able to set up additional inroads for cities in Canada. Then later in the year they added a connecting flight from Taipei to Tokyo Japan. Taken as a whole, the year was potent as the company accounted that their annual profits had progressed. There will be an anticipation of new development aptitudes in the midway. The reason for that is EVA has submitted their application with the Star Alliance of associated airlines. As soon as that is approved, then there will be even better things taking place with EVA.

In order to get the air passengers inside of Taiwan, EVA made a daring move, back during the 1990s. Desperately wanting to take the market, three additional airlines were purchased by EVA. Combining airlines is a way to take over a market, so adding Taiwan Airways, Great China Airlines, and Makung International Airlines, was what EVA did. During the 1998s, UNI Air became an entity that included the three airlines merged into one. After EVA took control of UNI Air, it then became a big part of the companies domestic operations. The flight procedures inside all of Taiwan are taking care of by UNI Air.

Like every other airlines, the rising fuel costs starting in 2007 caused horrible financial problems for EVA. No matter what the reason for business losses, it is still hard to take, especially for airlines during higher fuel costs. The airline industry worldwide is in a precarious position when it comes to fuel prices, which cause profits or losses. When survival is at stake, companies take drastic steps to counteract big losses, and that is what airlines had to do. To keep from losing their business EVA put in many cost savings steps, and these procedures eliminated some jobs, but in the end saved many more.

Though based in Asia, EVA Air is always seeking to maintain and grow their international presence. Travel has never been better for those in Europe and Asia because of the business and economy travel packages that they offer. Fuel costs crippled EVA badly several years ago when the price of oil spiked and the cost of jet fuel went up with it. However, they were able to respond with appropriate cost-cutting measures to help minimize damage. Though it happens from time to time, airlines usually suffer the most because of how much fuel they need for their business to operate. So that is truly not a bad performance for a smallish airline from the small country of Taiwan.

No matter which airplane you pick, your lodge can make or break any holiday or journey. This is exactly why many individuals elect to travel to and remain in London, as the hotels are probably the very best in the world. Consider coming to London for your next trip.
