Meal Ideas To Be Used On Private Jet Charter Flights

By Chris Channing

A private jet charter is a luxurious form of travel. You shouldn't have to settle with eating a basic ham and cheese sandwich, especially when on an extended flight that could take hours to reach the destination. Lining out your catering needs beforehand is, thus, required.

Preparing food on a jet is going to take several basic items you will find in your kitchen. A refrigerator is fairly standard, and a freezer is a nice plus. Microwaves designed for private jet use are also quite standard. Steam-based stoves are also available if you went forth and bought a more expensive private jet. Take inventory of your galley tools before ever starting a list of meals that you want to prepare during flight.

Meat that has been properly frozen will present a problem for private jet owners. Meat can be thawed out, but cooking it in a microwave will result in a meal far from five stars. Methods can be taken to pre-cook the meat so that you only have to eat it up, but that too requires that you have a means of keeping the meat cold until you will have need for it in your meal.

Don't stay within the mindset that you have to create all of your meals on the flight. Just like you took meals to school in younger years, you can do the same on a flight. Pack some items that keep well, such as an apple or orange, and perhaps store drinks and other materials in a cooler until needed. This method reduces preparation time to near nothing if done correctly.

Catering is done for clients that don't want to worry about the food problem, and yet still want to eat like a king during the flight. Catering companies are experts in making the best of a small galley, and can even perform dinners for vegetarians or for special requests. Catering is going to cost a lot more money than what you would pay in preparing food yourself. If cost isn't a factor, private jet charter companies can give leads on good services.

Don't forget to eat smart when on a flight. If you have an important meeting following the flight or soon after, you should eat a diet accordingly. Eating plenty of carbohydrates and proteins is hard when cooking utilities are limited, but not impossible. Resorting to a simple boxed dinner for your dining needs is possible in order for you to get the variety you want without cost of catering.

In Conclusion

Meals consumed over a flight don't have to be exotic. You can get by being as simple or expensive as you would like. If you do decide that you want the most options in food preparation, you can always upgrade your galley to be fitted with new cooking instruments.
