West Palm Beach Sunfest: Florida Arts

By Richard Simmons

West Palm Beach Sunfest in Florida is its largest arts and music festival. This is how locals start off their summer, while inviting visitors to come and join them. Mind you, the idea of summer makes sense during the spring months in Florida. Getting into the spirit will be easy. Add talented, often familiar musicians into the mix and this is a party to get visitors excited.

Some participants float on a barge to hear music. Others will wiggle their toes in sand or just stand-up with the crowd in front of one of three stages. Purchase a package ticket such as the VIP or back stage options.

More than seventy-five art vendors will set-up stalls to sell their creations. Come along and support their efforts while sipping a cold drink, special festival cocktail, tasting wine and nibbling on great food. A kids area will keep younger participants busy and happy.

While visiting this part of Florida, consider looking around at what else there is to offer. For example, take advantage of opportunities to play tennis and golf. Ooh and aah at Lion Country Safari and Palm Beach Zoo. Splash and cool off at the water park.

When guests choose a central hotel this makes a big difference to their level of relaxation by cutting down on travel. In particular, where crowds are heavy, traffic and parking create enormous hassles that start a day off on the wrong foot. Fairfield Inn Palm Beach hotel locates Festival participants right on the water. Beaches rest within an easy stroll. Sink into a thick double, queen or kind-sized mattress with a cup of coffee made right in the room to your liking. Switch on cable TV after setting individual climate control to a comfortable temperature.

Valet dry cleaning will look after sweaty clothes, or just use the laundry. After showering off, make use of hair dryer, iron and ironing board to freshen-up suitcase-creased clothing. Two phones and voice mail ensure that no call is missed, so if family back home are trying to keep in touch, get back to them before they worry.

Other amenities include a twenty-four hour airport shuttle. On second thoughts, treat yourself to a luxurious limo ride. Meal times will excite with offering such as City Oyster, City Cellar Wine Bar and Grill. Ask one of the bilingual front desk staff to arrange for delivery.
