Most Famous Wineries in the USA

By Rachel Madison

For those looking to do a wine tour in the United States, there are plenty of options to choose from. Visiting a winery can be an experience in itself, and the United States has plenty of options to choose from. The West Coast, especially Califorinia, is known world-wide for the vineyards there.

Wide River Winery has a very stylish tasting room, and the hosts are eager to please. They offer a variety of wines with "legal" names such as Felony Red, a dry red wine made from Corot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. Another great wine is White Collar Crime, a dry white wine made from Vidal Blanc and Chardonnay grapes.

If you continue to head east on your quest for a great wine, the wineries around Lake Erie's Southern Shore, near Pennsylvania and New York state, will not disappoint. For about 40 miles, there is a great strip of wineries and beautiful small towns. Here the wineries are nestled along beaches, rolling hills, and green forests. The scenery is delightful.

It runs parallel to famous Highway 29, so be sure to wave at all the cars! The Napa Valley Wine Train is an antique car, fully restored, and runs on twenty-five miles of track. On the train there are several gourmet restaurants to choose from, and the train offers guests an assortment of hard-to-find wines. There are different packages from lunches to dinners so that this experience can be affordable to everyone.

The tours include gourmet lunch or dinner, and private group tours of some Napa Valley wineries. Napa Valley offers the Wine Train. This is a unique train that runs exclusively through the Napa Valley. A person could plan an entire vacation around the Napa Valley area and still not see and do everything there.
