Choosing The Right Vacation

By Jewel Chesson

When you start planning, you should decide what kind of vacation you want. Consider who is going with you, and what they enjoy doing. Everyone should be happy with the trip so plan carefully.

Singles

If you're traveling with a group of single friends, you may be looking for a fast-paced, entertainment filled vacation that will give you all the opportunity to interact with other holidaymakers and locals You may think about:

A place that provides fun and a place to stay.

A coach tour, like the Contiki tours, where you can travel through a country visiting various sights while still able to have some time to yourselves to explore;

Hiring a mini-van, SUV or camper, touring under your own steam. You'll still benefit from good planning.

With a group of people, you will have a lot of fun backpacking across a country.

You'll also probably have a lot of fun on a cruise.

Family Vacations

Keeping the kids entertained will be the biggest hurdle. Seaside resorts will offer many children's activities.

Children will have fun hiking and seeing nature.

Farm holidays are fun for children and they can feed animals. This will be a nice, rustic vacation that will also have farm fresh produce on meal times.

Romantic Getaways

A romantic getaway is defined by what you and your partner like to do, but ideally should be a quieter, more peaceful vacation where you get the opportunity to spend time together. Look for something on the countryside with great dining. Privacy and flexibility are very romantic.

Mature Vacations

Once the kids have left home - or stopped vacationing with you, your options widen considerably. Museums, monuments, historical tours, art and culture routes and wildlife or nature parks are suddenly options available because you don't have to worry about bored, fidgety, noisy kids any more. Casinos could be fun, with friends or just a partner. A health spa vacation can be super too, with relaxing treatments, great service and the opportunity to do some local sightseeing too.

There is a vacation for all interests. If you are traveling with mixed age groups, for instance kids and grandparents, you might want to consider taking turns with activities that cater to different interests and age groups so that everyone has a good time.
