Tourist centers in Bali and Phuket

By Janet Solari

Any Bali travel guide will tell you that Denpasar is the bustling capital, administrative and business hub of Bali. It is situated on Bali's south coast. It is the principal gateway to the most popular islands of Indonesia. It boasts of mixed population consisting of Javanese, Balinese and immigrants from other places in this archipelago. Its urban atmosphere contrasts completely with the peaceful Hindu temples, lush terraced fields of rice and amazing sandy beaches. It is a modern cosmopolitan city which has grown very fast in three decades.

In loads of methods Denpasar has a great deal of similarities with the capital of Indonesia than using the island hinterland. On the other hand, the location is worth visiting, even for people who prefer staying inside the neighboring resort locations as an alternative to the city. Most tourists prefer staying at resort areas like Nusa Dua, Sanur and Kuta where majority of the restaurants, hotels, nightlife and shopping facilities are situated. The primary thoroughfare of the city is Jalan Gajah Mada that runs from west to east and usually witnesses visitors jams. Downtown Denpasar has a hub known as Puputan Square or Medan Puputan. It boasts of greenery and lawns. It's recognized for Bali Museum, the extravagant Governor's residence and monument devoted to Bali's royalty that was shot by the Dutch there in the year 1906. Kuta is Bali's very first resort and also the largest. It lies few kilometers to southwest of capital.

It's spread out 20 km from its original location merging using the neighboring Legian. Several upscale hotels are present here but its primary visitors are midrange and spending budget travellers. Its wonderful beach is popular for surfing which is the primary attraction. It also has an extensive range of bars, restaurants, nightlife, colorful shops and lodgings. The peninsula of Nusa Dua, Sanur and Ubud are well-known with tourists too.

When it comes to travel and tourism in Phuket, there are a great many things to do off this island and on it, come rain or sunshine. From seemingly profane to sublime, the variety of places you can visit and activities you can do is amazing. Here are the top places that you must visit. The bay of Phang Nga is unique. You will find limestone cliffs jutting out of waters that are emerald green in color. Koh Panyee and James Bond Island are very famous places here. You can enjoy the quiet beaches in the area. Phuket Town is the provincial capital of the island. It boasts of funky shops and Sino-Portuguese splendors that will amaze you. It has more to offer than just local sights and excellent restaurants.

You'll be able to saunter around this town taking in the extraordinary blend of Chinese and colonial architecture. Patong beach is where the night comes alive with its exotic girls, lady boys, enchanted foreigners and a lot of extraverts. Wat Chalong, Huge Buddha, Simon Cabaret, Fantasea show, Vegetarian Festival, Songkran Festival and so on are to be observed to be believed!
