English Holidays - Destinations To Visit

There is so much on offer with English holidays that it can be difficult to decide where to go. Packed into a reasonably small geographic space there are historic wonders at every twist and turn.

The Cornish Coast is an excellent choice for families or for those who want to sneak away to re-kindle their romance. Seeped in a rich Celtic past you can visit ancient stone circles and monuments out on the moors, see historic Lands End, take a taste of culture with you at the Tate Gallery or visit the ecological Gweek Seal Sanctuary.

Bath is a charming place to visit with some of the country's best loved tourist attractions within its limits. Bath Cathedral is a wonderful architectural example and the Roman Baths are a must showcasing in perfect working order Roman engineering as it was over 2000 years ago.

Torquay is a fun place to visit on your vacation. Known as part of the English Riviera, there is plenty to do in a relaxed setting. The Torquay Heritage Trail guides you around the area's major sites, which include Roman ruins right up to Regency era manor homes.

The Cotswald is one of the most popular vacation or getaway spots in the country. There are quaint little villages and pretty natural spots to visit. Burford is one of the best examples of a Cotswald village with its medieval bridge, traditional stone cottages and 17th century manor houses.

A visit to Canterbury and the surrounding Kentish countryside is a must with its world famous cathedral and castles there is much to see and do in the area.

You are spoiled for choice when planning your English holidays, with so many fascinating sites packed into an easily accessible geographical area.
