The Eastern Cape of South Africa

By Pascal Shalaman

The Eater Cape of South Africa is a stunning location to take a holiday because there are so many things for people to experience when visiting. The location is extremely diverse in appearance with much of it taken up by areas of wilderness but then it also has lots of resorts with hotels, bars, restaurants and beaches. A lot of people take a long time or can't decide what they want to do on holiday but with the Eastern Cape you don't have to as you really can have everything you could ever want but all in one place.

One of the most popular things to do in the Eastern Cape is head out into the wilderness on an amazing safari to see the popular 'big five'. Here people can see Buffalo, Leopards, Lions, Rhinoceros' and elephants in their natural habitat in what makes for one of the best possible days out. Travelling through the wilderness in an open top vehicle while relaxing in the sun and seeing some of the world's most amazing animals is definitely a day to remember.

There are also lots of offshore activities for people to experience too if they want to. The Eastern Cape is well-known for being a great place to go snorkelling and diving or even surfing for something a bit more adrenaline filled. It is also an excellent place to go fishing as there are plenty of large and rare fish to be caught off the coast of the Easter Cape.

Then there are the different beautiful resorts such as Port Elizabeth which is the Eastern Cape's capital. Port Elizabeth of course has all of the beachside water sports but it has lots of other things for people to see too. The walking trails, nature reserves and botanical gardens are some of the most popular ways to get a change of scenery from the beach.

For somewhere a little less tourist focused, people can head to the Eastern region of the Easter Cape where they will find amazing forests and cliffs followed by amazing and often almost empty beaches. Because it is much less populated, the Eastern region is possible the best place in Eastern Cape to go fishing.
