Explore the Wines of the Sunshine Coast Region

When you are planning a trip to Australia's Sunshine Coast region, some of the more romantic places to visit are the regions beautiful vineyards. In the valley surrounding the Sunshine Coast there are several outstanding vineyards that are producing very popular Australian wines. If you are looking for a quiet afternoon to spend some time with a loved one, then the Sunshine Coast vineyards are definitely the place to go.

Located just about one hour outside of Brisbane , you will find hand picked grapes of all varieties that contribute to the character and uniqueness of the wines in this region. The wineries celebrate not only the taste of the wines themselves but embrace all of the rich tastes of the region offering cheese platters, restaurants, tours of the vineyards as well as the wineries and of course romantic gourmet picnics. Come and enjoy the tastes of the Queensland in incredibly scenic settings with breathtaking views, which just add to the experience. You will find the wines produced here to be very distinctive and full of character, an incredible experience for the true wine connoisseur.

If you are interested in visiting the vineyards in the region, two of the most popular are the Little Morgue Winery and Robinson at Noosa.

THE LITTLE MORGUE WINERY - Located in a previously functioning morgue, this is perhaps one of the most unique of the wineries in the region. A Gothic styled building with a newly remodeled interior, the Little Morgue Winery opened its doors in 2003 and their first event was a Black Friday dinner, playing on the morgue theme. The owners have enjoyed playing on the morgue theme and have used this theme in many ways throughout their menu offering items like Sudden Death by Chocolate as well as Mummified Flesh and of course a wine called Supreme after Life. An incredible wine tasting and dining experience, be sure to put this one on the top of your to see list.

Robinsons At Noosa - Robinson at Noosa is conveniently located at the heart of the Sunshine Coast's vineyards. Robinson at Noosa is both a vineyard and Bread & Breakfast, so if you are planning to visit multiple vineyards over several days, this is the ideal place to stay. The B&B has a saltwater pool and driving range, to allow you to unwind after a day touring the country side. In addition to the fine wines found at Robinson at Noosa there are several comfortable rooms, and excellent food in the B &B, making this vineyard a perfect place to escape for a few days.

When visiting the Sunshine Coast region make sure to dedicate some time to visiting the many excellent wineries in the region. The wineries provide a perfect romantic setting to spend some time with the one you love.
