Dominican Republic Vacation " Beach Bumming At Its Finest

By Rafael Wallace

Vacations out of the country can be expensive. You might be able to enjoy the most relaxing experiences only to burn a hole through your pocket. That can bring the stress right back to your life. Fortunately, there are affordable choices. A vacation to the Dominican Republic for example is known to be one of the most affordable options you can take.

The place is affordable for several reasons. One top reason is that the country specializes in all inclusive resort packages. It is in fact considered to have one of the largest industries for this type of tourist program. As the term suggests, all inclusive packages include meals, activities and accommodations for a specific invariable price. With a deal like this, you do not have to worry about overspending or scrimping. At the onset, you pay for the agreed price and all that is left to do is to enjoy.

These all-inclusive resorts are accessible from the U.S. There are some resort options when you land in the capital city of Santo Domingo. A better option however is to travel to Punta Cana which is east of the capital. Punta Cana has an airport of its own and tourists from other parts of the world may land there directly depending on where they come from.

The all-inclusive packages initially draw the attention of tourists to Punta Cana. Once on location however, the real attraction comes to light. What makes Punta Cana a prime destination is its spectacular twenty mile beach stretch of sparkling white sand. If nothing else, Dominican Republic vacationers can just spend their days lying on these sands and go home satisfied.

Punta Cana is also ideal because of its space. Often, the beaches here are less congested than those in other Caribbean destinations. During peak seasons however, the place can still pack a solid crowd of tourists. If you arrive at a busy time, you might want to have some alternatives. Puerto Plata northwest of Santo Domingo may be a good choice. Like Punta Cana, they also have a number of all inclusive resort packages. Tourists however would have a better choice in Samana.

Samana is not exactly a primeval destination. It is however comparatively remote. Its peaceful atmosphere is largely because of its location. Samana conveniently sits on a piece of land that juts out from the mainland. It is also sheltered by a mountain range that connects with its beaches. This unique geographical location makes Samana less accessible.

Despite its location, Samana still boasts of unspoiled beaches. Some water activities you can expect are snorkeling, diving and whale watching. Horseback riding is also a popular activity. Hotel accommodations are often small but fit the ideal of romantic getaways.

Vacation does not necessarily have to be all about beaches and in Dominican Republic, they make sure their tourists leave their place agreeing with them on this. There are lots to do including cultural and historical sightseeing and traditional shopping. Then again, when you are a Dominican Republic vacation, its hard to just snub those white, powdery sands.
