Take A Long Cruise To Antarctica

Antarctica isn't regularly regarded as a place to visit since many folks assume that it's too cold or void of any activities. Antarctica is a cold place to go to but the wildlife and natural environment will supply a visit to be remembered for ever. There are birds, whales, seals and penguins in Antarctica that you are going to not see in any other part of the Earth. Some of the different types of penguins are: Chinstrap, Gentoo, Adelei and Emperor. The gracefulness of the big whales is something you cannot miss. The icebergs in the Arctic Circle are also different, featuring blue, green and oddly formed ones. Antarctica also has some of the prettiest sunsets.

Your trip will begin as you cruise through the Antarctic Convergence. As you enter Drake Passage you will see many icy snow covered islands. There will be one or two opportunities to exit the ship and essentially walk around on land. This is the time to really experience what Antarctica is all about. Take A Different Type Of Vacation

The simplest way to go to Antarctica would be to start on a cruise to this gorgeous place. Cruise ships have a great strategy to show you the whole area. There are many different islands that you are going to be able to see from the ship. If you are interested in penguins, Cuverville Island and Petermann Island will be great visits.

These are the islands where you'll find the Gentoo and Adelei penguins respectively. The Cuverville island is on the northerly side of the Errera Channel while the Petermann island is near southern Antarctica. One of the great things about Petermann Island is that you can essentially walk around, see the wildlife and actually take in the environment. Another great island to go to is King George Island. It is this island where you will find the Arctowski lighthouse which is renowned for being so far south.
