Worldwide Travel Options From Dublin Airport

By Stephen J. Kilkenny

Dublin Airfield is a world center for travel. It is one of the 10 most active airfields in Europe and most of flights into Eire come in via this city. With a fresh terminal having been recently opened it is about to keep growing and improving. There are numerous destinations that can be reached from Dublin and the facilities and services in the terminals are wonderful. The connections into Dublin centre are also excellent.

There are at present two terminals at the airfield. Terminal one is for all Ryan Air flights and other leading carriers like Lufthansa, BMI, Air Canada and Swissair. Some services at the terminal include postal services, currency and banking, net access, baggage services and baby changing facilities. The new terminal two caters for all Aer Lingus, Delta, Continental and American Airlines flights. Facilities on offer here are like those in terminal one.

As well as the 20 8 routes that run forwards and backwards from Britain, there's also over 100 routes to favored destinations inside Europe. They have a good range of travel options for getting to the U. S. and beyond and there are even 1 or 2 services to the Middle East and North Africa.

If you have time to spare before you travel it is worth taking a look round The Loop. This is Dublin Airfields own mall. You can shop for perfumes, cosmetics, fashion, confectionery, souvenirs and travel necessities. The costs are great and there's a free shop and collect service where you should purchase your items before you leave Eire and then collect them on your return so that they do not take up extra space in your luggage.

Each terminal has a wide variety of bars and trattorias for you to use up some time before you leave. There are proper sit down restaurants, coffee bars and fast food chains. Every one of them have long opening hours and some are open twenty four hours a day so you can get refreshments no matter what time of the day or night you are travelling.

If you plan to travel some place else within the country after you have arrived you'll either need to hire a car or catch a train. Engaging a automobile is fast and convenient at both of the terminals and it'll give you flexibleness on your trip. If you would prefer to catch a train you may first need to make your way into the town center. This may be done either by taxi or on one of the very good value and frequent bus and coach services that are available.

There's lots of accommodation to choose between in Dublin. If you are waiting overnite for a connecting flight there are hotels near to the airfield but there are some great places to go to within the city if you're going to be around for a bit. There are hotels in varied locations, in varying styles with varying costs and sightseeing in the city is easy on foot or by public transport.

Ireland is a wonderful destination and a handy spot for stopping over in the middle of the long trip. Dublin Airfield is a convenient, modern and well appointed place to take your flights to and from and the facilities are second to none.
