Hotels in North London - Two Wonderful Examples of the Capitals Finest Accommodation

By Dexter Osbourne

One of the world's most popular tourist destinations (and with good reason) North London is a perfect holiday destination for both UK citizens and foreign travellers alike. You'll never run out of things to do in North London, be it the world class bars and restaurants or the world famous attractions but whatever your vocational fancy you're going to need a place to stay. Of course the amount of hotels in North London is monumental but we'll be using a couple of more quirky, unique hotels as an example of the kind of accommodation you can expect to find.

The Comfort Finchley in an affordable hotel situated in the naturally resplendent North London suburb of the same name. It is only half an hour from much of the cities major attractions and mere minutes away from Hampstead Heath, the Alexandra Palace and an abundance of world-renowned local bars, restaurants and nightspots. It is a modern styled hotel but has all of the unique character of its more expensive cousins and is perhaps one of the most elegant and interestingly designed budget hotels in north London as well as being a fantastic base from which to explore the rest of the capital.

The Comfort Finchley is situated rather conveniently on a state of the art leisure complex which includes a bowling alley, a gym and 2 swimming pools and in within walking distance of the Brent Cross Shopping Centre and the Phoenix Cinema, one of the oldest cinemas in the UK. Hotels in north London are known for being overpriced and under-furnished and with poor links to the rest of the capital but the comfort enjoys close links to the north circular road and is only a half hour tube ride away from the cities centre. The rooms are sparse and clean, but elegant and equipped with all manner of necessary mod cons.

The Raglan hotel combines contemporary design with subtle touches of Asian culture (the hotel includes a beautifully landscapes Japanese garden) and a convenient location; it represents the very best in luxury hotels in north London. Situated in the incredibly trendy Muswell Hill area, the hotel is remarkably close to most of the capitals most famous attractions, the rooms boats luxury beds, flat-screen TV's and full en-suite bathrooms and the on-site 'Bar 101' is perfect for a relaxed night out. It is also a perfect location for businesses and events, with the afore-mentioned Japanese garden and patio areas able to accommodate everything from weddings parties to corporate events.

Perhaps the most enviable facet of the Raglan however is its location. Very few hotels in north London can boats such a vast array of activities on their front door steps. Muswell Hill is an area of London that strikes a perfect balance between 'big city' and 'friendly town'. It is also a short taxi ride away from the West End and everything else the capital has to offer.
