ATP Flight School Requirements - What You Must Have

By Bruce Hogan

if you are thinking about becoming private pilot then you must get used to hearing about the federal aviation association. This is also known as the FAA. This is the government section that is responsible for setting all the rules. You are going to need to get a game plan together to start your pilot course.

To begin with you must make sure that you are of at least the minimum age of 16. You will not be able to fly alone until you reach the age of 17. But there are many parts of the course that you will be able to go ahead with.

Make sure that you fully understand English and are able to read and write and speak it properly if you are not able to then you will not be able to do the course. Being as you will have to do some radio communication you need to be able to speak the proper English.

You could take an English course if you are weak in this area these are all things that you must get in order before you even consider taking this pilots license course. You are going to have to be in good health, and you are going to need a medical certificate that says this is the case.

Even though you have all of these things in place there is still much more to be done. You will need to search around and find a school in your area that offers this type of training. Once you do this hopefully there will be a couple of them, and you will be able to do some price comparisons. You are probably looking at over 6000 dollars for this particular training.

Then there are also going to be extra costs involved in this as well. For example, there will be some equipment that you will need of your own and there will be your study books as well. You also may need to buy some extra training time so you should plan on having the money for this as well.

Then finally your going to have to consider the time it's going to take for you to complete this course as well you are not going to know the requirement for class attendance until you choose your school of training. In any event, you must be sure that you are going to have the time available to apply to your studies.

You are going to need about 65 hours of flying time alone before you can even do the final test. This does not include the time that you are going to need for your theory. And then there are tests that have to be taken as well that are going to require your time.

Once you have put all of these things into place you are probably going to be at the beginning stage of being ready to start your training.
