When you are driving between Perth and Inverness on A9, you will see a small sign that indicates Atholl Road. Take this Road and drive a few miles and you will enter the enchanted burgh of Pitlochry - Perth and Kinross. During August, the Pitlochry Festival Theatre and Pitlochry Autumn Festival provide a wonderful experience for visitors. The Enchanted Forest sound and light show takes place during the festival, there are activities each day, and music and theatre each night.
From May through October over 20,000 people visit the Pitlochry Festival Theatre that is noted for providing six plays in six nights to visitors. There are musical events and exhibits held on a daily basis throughout the season and you will not be disappointed when you see the National Scottish Ballet performing in the classical theatre.
Getting to Blair Castle will be a wonderful adventure. Motor to Glen Tilt and take a short walk to the Castle or take the ferry to the Castle and enter the enchanted gardens and beauty of the first Castle in Scotland to be opened to visitors. Blair Castle has been occupied by the Atholl family for over 750 years and it is a stunning vision of historical artifacts that you will not find anywhere in the world. When visiting the Castle be sure to take time to ask about and explore the attic and hidden rooms.
The Hercules garden is as beautifully maintained as the Castle. You will wander the nine acres of enclosed garden and get to enjoy the award winning gardens, ponds, statues, and landscaping.
