General Tourist Information On The Nation of Ukraine

Nestled between Russia, Poland, and Romania, is the small country of Ukraine. This nation is a wonderful travel destination, but also historically important. The landscape here is also beautiful, and there are plenty of attractions to keep you busy.

The capital of the Ukraine is known as Kiev, and is also the most populated city. There are tons of shopping venues, theaters, and galleries to visit in Kiev. The nightlife is also booming, and draws in tons of tourists each year. In 2000 the country received roughly 6 million visitors. In 2008 the city received well over 20 million, and that number continues to grow. The country is a Christian based nation, so you can expect that to reflect in their culture and customs.

Most buildings here are heavily influenced by Austrian and Polish culture as well. The architecture is beautiful and well known around the world for the precision that goes into each building. The museums for art and literature are a wonderful attraction, and a few should be visited at least once. Modern art and folk art are common in galleries around the cities.

If visiting old historical cities is important to you, then consider touring Lviv. This is an old medieval town and has strong Polish and Austrian influence in the architecture. This city is full of culture and old fashioned fun, it isn't as modern as Kiev, but it is equally as popular. There are other popular historical cities to enjoy as well, and most are close by or within a short travel distance.

If you need dental care or cosmetic surgery, then consider going to the Ukraine. While most tourists don't come here with liposuction in mind, many find their prices affordable and the services phenomenal. Many people know that the Ukraine is a hot spot for plastic surgery as well as spa services. The spa treatments here are top notch and contain the highest quality ingredients from around the world. Mud baths are common here, and also very cheap.

Hikers and wildlife photographers will find that the Ukraine satisfies their craving for good adventure. The mountains and combination of landscapes here will surely entice and spark interest in all travelers. The parks and wildlife are green and full of life. Many people come here just for the nature alone. Delicious cuisine, culture, and spas all make Ukraine a desirable location for travelers around the world.

Closing Comments

Previously the Ukraine government required visitors to obtain a Visa before entry to the country was permitted. As of 2005 visas are no longer required for travelers that have a passport and do not plan to stay for a certain amount of time.
