The Gulf coast consists of five states those being Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas. These are known as the Gulf States, they are known as this due to the fact their coasts lie on the border with the Gulf of Mexico. The largest river that runs through any of the Gulf states is the Mississippi. Due to its moist conditions most of the land surrounding the Gulf used to be Marshland, but in modern times development has occurred and this is no longer the case.

As mentioned the Gulf has become a destination that is popular with tourists. There is much entertainment to be had in a Gulf state thanks to the climate and the location. Fishing charters are easily found and the chances of catching something are always high. Due to the vast amounts of free land, there are also a number of Golf courses to test your skills on. Alongside the entertainment the Gulf regions also offer exclusive fashion boutiques which can provide you with some reasonably priced fashionable styles.

Due to the wealth of culture within the Gulf there are numerous museums for you to cater to your curiosity. In Mississippi resides a Children's museum that lies in America's Top 50, stimulating your child's mind. The Gulf states are bathed in a sub-tropical climate and as such benefit from warm temperatures throughout the year.
